Chapter Eight

I have to be dreaming, it can't be her.

"Beautiful what's wrong?" Confusion in Luke's voice, but who could blame him, I am confused myself.

"Ana?" The woman in the bed was just as confused.

"Becky, what the f**k?"

"Alright, how do you ladies know each other?" Luke looks between us waiting for someone to answer.

"You know how I told you Drake left for another woman? Well let me introduce Becky, the other woman." 

"I was 17 when we met, he left Ana a month before my 18th birthday. On my 18th birthday I found out I am one quarter wolf. My grandfather was Alpha Denario," Luke's eyes grow big with shock. "My father was Samuel, he was conceived from a one night stand after Denarios mate passed. My grandmother never told him. My mother died in labor and my father died when I was 8. When I turned 18 I shifted and met my wolf Blare, my grandmother told me all this. I went to see Drake and tell him the truth not knowing he was a hunter. Because I had so little wolf blood he didn't know till I told him. He tried to kill me but I shifted and Blare ran to the only place we could think of. My grandfather's pack. Luke I am your cousin. I ask for asylum and protection. Please he will kill me, I have nowhere else to go." My jaw drops.

Luke with his Alpha face on looks at her, "I will grant your request but a few things will happen. First Doc will run a DNA test to verify that we are in fact related. Second, until you have earned our trust you will be assigned a guard. I can't just have someone who was close to what could be our greatest enemy running free. And third you will be assigned work, everyone earns their keep."

"Yes Alpha thank you." Becky looks relieved. "Ana I am sorry, when we met he never told me you were married or even together. When he left you is when he told me. At that point I had fallen for him and he already left you so I just decided what's done is done. I am sorry," Becky looks at me and I can tell she truly means it.

I walk up to the bed and hug Becky, she is surprised but returns the hug, "if you didn't know about me then he was cheating on you too. We will make him pay for all the hurt he caused." She nods her head.

"I will make all the necessary preparations and send someone to come get you and give you a tour." Luke turns and walks from the room. I nod to Becky and follow him out. Doc is already swapping his check for the DNA test. "How long till we get the results?"

"I am putting in a rush order so about a week Alpha," Doc then leaves to go swap Becky.

"How are you doing?" I ask, hugging Luke. He buries, his head in my neck and in my mind I hear his voice.

'I am not sure, if what she tells is the truth then my life has completely changed, if she is lying then we could all be in danger.'

'yeah, but I feel she is not lying. But how can I hear you in my head?'

Luke's laugh echoes in my head 'Beautiful we finished the mating process, we can now mind link.'

 'oh s**t I forgot about that. But if I need you how do I do this?'

'Easy just clear your mind and think of me. Then just talk when you feel my presence.'

'I may just test that later. Might bug you a lot so that way if I ever need you I know I can do this as good as everyone else.'

Luke pulls away from the hug and aloud "I want to talk to my mom about all this," he looks nervous.

"But you want to have a private conversation. I understand, I will go back to the house. Will you be home for lunch or will you eat with your mom?"

"She is my mom, I would be held captive unless I eat with her."

"Alright then I will make myself lunch and see you for dinner then. I love you."

"I love you too Beautiful," Luke gives a soft kiss and he starts off to his mom's and I go back to our home.

After eating a sandwich I go to the game room and start playing video games to keep myself busy while I wait for Luke to come home. 

About 5 o'clock I haven't heard from Luke for several hours so I decided to try and mind link. I clear my mind and think about Luke. My whole body relaxes and then it feels like his arms are around me.

'I was checking in on you, haven't heard from you. Will you be home soon?'

I go to the kitchen and start on dinner. Steak potatoes and corn on the cob, my man likes his steaks.  I wrap the corn and potatoes with foil and place them in the oven for 30 minutes. I am preparing the steaks when I hear the door. "Luke is that you? I thought you said you would be an hour." There was no answer, I start getting worried. I try to mind linking Luke.

'Luke someone just came in the house but they won't answer when I call out'

'Get in the pantry right now, lock yourself in.'

I run in the pantry and throw down the steel gate. 

I am hiding behind the shelves when Luke reaches out to my mind.

'Beautiful, you can come out now.'

I open up the door looking around nervous. I see Luke and run into his arms. "I was so scared I heard the door but I called out and there was no answer. I didn't know what to do."

"Shhh beautiful, it's ok. When I got here no one was here but dinner was burnt," I look at the counter and the potatoes and corn are both black.

"Well f**k, I am sorry about dinner. I think I am a little jumpy. It seems like constant danger." I look at my feet like they are the most interesting things in the world.

Luke grabs my chin making me look up at him. "I will have a pizza delivered from the dinner, just put the steaks away before they go bad." I smile, Luke never gets mad at me. Drake would have punched something over this or at least yell. I do as I am told and go sit in the game room and wait. Everything feels off like someone was here, I try to just forget it but I just can't get over this feeling.

After eating dinner late we go to the room and I start changing for bed. I still have this feeling that someone was here and that we are being watched. "What's the matter beautiful?" Luke asks as I stand there in my undergarments.

"I don't know, I guess still a little on edge," not wanting to worry Luke.

He walks up to me, "I think you need a distraction," he winks. "Strip now,"  his voice is serious like when he is in Alpha mode.

"Yes Alpha," I say smiling as I tease him.

He grabs my hair yanking my head to look at him, "mmm I like it when you say that. In fact only call me alpha tonight." He forcefully kisses me then throws me backwards, "Now do as I command strip."

I gulp, "yes Alpha" is all I can say as I remove the remainder of my clothes. I stand there naked as Luke stares at my body a growl erupts from his chest.

"Now lay on the bed."

"Yes Alpha."

"Good girl," he grabs my arms and tie them to either post of the bed then does the same to my legs leaving me in a big x on the bed. He grabs the duffle bag from the closet. "Tonight you will feel me but you will not see me," Luke then covers my eyes leaving me blind to what he has planned.

It's quiet, I can't hear anything, I almost think he left me alone tied to the bed. Then I hear a lighter go off letting me know he is still here. Then nothing again. Darlien runs up to me all smiles as we walk up to the training grounds, she bows "Alpha, Luna. I am glad you made it. Come on they are starting the run." I give Luke a small kiss on the cheek and run to catch up with the young warriors.

I collapse to the ground after sparing with Darlien, "you went easy on me," I laugh as Darlien helps me up.

"Well you did just get back from the hospital, and even I can tell you haven't slept. Tell Alpha he needs to let you rest sometimes and not keep you up all night," she winks. 

"How would you know if Alpha kept me up all night?" I raise an eyebrow at her.

"For one you smell like him, and two just about the whole pack heard your screams and his howls all night." She smiles as my cheeks go red.

"Well I think we are done so I am leaving now, just wait when you are old enough, and you realize your mate, I will not go easy on you." Darlien gives me a hug.

"Thank you, you're like a sister to me and I wouldn't expect any less."

"Awe you're like a sister to me too, and my best friend. I am so glad I got to meet you," I hug her back and run off to meet up with Luke.

"You two seem really close," Luke smiles wrapping his arms around my waist as we start to walk off together.

"She is a little sister to me, and the best friend I have," I smile looking up to luke. His eyes have dark circles and he looks exhausted. Apparently I am not the only one affected by last night. "What are the plans for today? Think we could sneak in a nap?"

"I believe we can, then we should have a meeting to discuss the plan of attack on your ex," Luke looks very serious. Who would have thought this would be my life. Not even a year ago I was happily married to my greatest enemy, then he left me for another woman who turned out to be a she-wolf and he turned out to be a hunter who tried to kill her and has kidnapped and killed god knows how many other wolf's. I knew my life was changing when I got divorced but, wow, talk about a new life. "You okay?" Luke looks concerned, we are in the room now and I don't remember the walk over, I was so deep in thought.

"Yeah, sorry I got distracted thinking about everything. A lot has happened in less than a year, hell less than half a year. Divorced, new relationship, finding out the truth. It's just a lot to think about."

"Well don't worry beautiful, I'm sure everything will work out for the better. I mean you have me now," he laughs at the last part making me smile. "Now come to bed before I spank you for not taking a nap."

"Don't threaten me with a good time Alpha," I say raising my eyebrow and biting my lip. Luke's eyes flash gray and I know Ty wants a turn but I am too tied, "down boy I need some sleep."

"Then you better stop teasing me," Ty's voice sounds hungry. I go to walk past to the bed and he pulls me into a deep passionate kiss. His tongue invading my mouth. Luke has his serious alpha face on now. I nod and start to get up. I am still naked and I look around for my clothes, they are torn up laying on the floor. No wonder Ty got me undressed so quickly. Shaking my head I go into the closet finding a simple summer dress slipping it on. Maybe these won't get ruined the next time. Luke already took off so I hurry to his office and find the men looking at the TV as moan fill the room.

"What the hell are you watching?" I ask as I look to the TV. Three young lovers are going at it in the library meeting room. "I have Luna business to handle this morning but I will see if maybe this afternoon we can hang, I will text you."

"Oh you're doing fine I mean you've been here a week at that and half that time either Luke or you have been in the hospital. No one tells me much because of my age but I still know war is on the horizon. You can feel it."

"Things are definitely moving but I know this pack is strong and they can come out on top."

"We, we will come out on top. You may not be a wolf yet but you are apart of this pack and you only make us stronger," Darlien smiles at me and I smile back. Maybe she is right, I hope she is at least.
