Chapter Six

My voice finds me as I scream "No, stop!" My eyes shoot open to see Luke's face, his eyes are red and blotchy like he has been crying. His face lights up when he sees I am awake.

"Oh beautiful I thought I lost you, thank the Goddess you finally woke up," Luke smiles down at me. I look around and it appears I am in a hospital room.

"I am so sorry, I couldn't stop him." I cry not knowing what else I can say. I cheated. I moaned as Drake f****d me just like he said I would. How could I tell Luke? Would he forgive me?

Luke picks me up hugging me. "Oh beautiful, please don't cry. It wasn't your fault whatever happened in there it wasn't you." He pets my hair trying to calm me but why? It is my fault I couldn't stop him, I couldn't stop Drake and I even moaned while he touched me.

"Luke I am sorry. Drake touched me and I didn't stop him. I.. I.."

"Beautiful stop he didn't get you. He was only in your mind, he used dark magic to reach you in your sleep. You have been unconscious for two days. I am sorry I couldn't break the hold he had on you. But you're awake now, he didn't get you. Whatever happened was the dark magic not you. But you are strong. You broke through and came back to me," Luke grabs my face looking me in the eyes reassuring me. Dark magic how does Drake have magic? How could he get to me? I start to sob uncontrollably. I can't talk, I can't even think. Luke just holds me like he is afraid to lose me.

We sit just holding each other for I don't know how long, until someone walks in. "Oh Goddess you're awake. Luna, my name is Katie but everyone calls me Doc around here. You gave us a real scare. You must be confused. Do you have any questions? How are you feeling?" She seems nice like I can trust her.

" Well physically I am tired but otherwise fine. Mentally I well," I glance at Luke and feel guilty, I know he said it's not my fault but I just still feel like it's my fault somehow that I could have fought more, stopped him somehow. 

Doc seems to pick up on my hesitation, "Alpha, would you go get your Luna some lunch please? I am sure she is very hungry."

"I don't want to leave her, she needs support," Luke protests, Doc's eyes glaze over and I know she is mind linking. "Beautiful I will be right back, I love you," Luke looks sad as he gets up to leave.

"I love you too," I say my heart breaking. I want to tell him everything, beg for forgiveness, but I just can't bear it. He leaves the room and Doc comes and sits next to me waiting for me to talk. "It was real, it felt so real. I held on to Lukes lifeless body then I fell through the ground and was chained to a bed. Drake he.. he.." I start sobbing all over again. Doc waits quiet for me to continue. "He touched my body and even though my mind was yelling to stop , all I did was moan, he even made me orgasm. I didn't want to but my body wouldn't listen. I cheated and I just can't seem to tell Luke. I want him to forgive me but how can you ask for forgiveness for something like this," my eyes are blurry with tears that continue to fall.

Doc sits there quiet still. Looking at me, processing, probably thinking about what a slut I am. I stare at my hands unable to look at her. "Luna you did not cheat. That was r**e. He touched you without permission and he used dark magic. He must have a witch on his payroll. When Alpha marked you it activated a hidden spell that sent you into that nightmare. Drake must have put the spell on you while you were still together. It was not your fault, the spell controlled your body but not your mind. We tried everything we could even had an allied witch come in when we detected magic. But the only way to break the spell was from within. Either you or Drake had to disconnect the tie holding you there. Luna your mind is strong and you broke free of his hold. He failed to break you in there, do not let him break you out here." I look up and Doc wipes my tears away.

"Thanks, that does make me feel a little better, I still don't like what my body did but I guess you are right it wasn't me." Doc pats my hand getting up.

"Luna you should rest. When the time is right you should tell Alpha he will still love you but there is nothing to forgive." With that she leaves me alone to think. I try to close my eyes and rest but every time I see Drake hovering over me with an evil smile.

"Beautiful, how are you feeling?" Luke walks in with a bowl of chicken soup.

"I don't know, honestly. I want to sleep but every time I try I see his face and it scares me. I don't want to go back there. What if I can't get out again? I just can't go through that again." I start crying all over again. 

"Beautiful I am here for you. I understand that you can't tell me what he did to you. I am sorry I couldn't protect you. I will not stop until that bastard pays for all the pain he has put you through. Even if he is not to blame for the missing packs he will still pay for hurting you. You are my everything and I will not let him have you," Luke nods as if agreeing with himself. I lightly smile at the love he has for me.

That evening I am released from the hospital and Luke walks me home. No matter how hard I try I can't forgive myself for how my body acted while under the spell. My mind is wondering so much I don't realize I am standing in the middle of our room for several minutes.

"Beautiful, you ok?" Luke asks, looking concerned for me. He has been wearing that look all day. 

"No, I can't seem to get past this mind block. I know Doc said it wasn't my fault it was the dark magic that caused my body to react to his touch. I am so sorry Luke, I feel like a cheater please don't hate me. He made me c*m in there. He touched me and my body reacted. I wanted to tell him to stop but all I did was moan. I wanted to stop but my body came. I am so sorry," Luke looks angry. Why wouldn't he be his mate was with another man black magic nightmare or not. I begin crying, god I have been crying a lot today, "I am so sorry, I never meant to hurt you."

Luke's face softens, " no beautiful don't be sorry. You did nothing wrong. I am angry at him for hurting you, I am angry at myself for not protecting you. I am angry I couldn't get you outta there. But I am not and never will be angry at you," he wraps me up in his arms as I sob into his chest. I feel weak. I can't talk, all I can do is cry. Luke picks me up bridal style and lays me down on the bed crawling up next to me holding me in his arms. 

I must have fallen asleep at some point because I woke up still wrapped in Luke's arms. He is awake still, or already, I don't know how long I have been asleep. Luke is petting my hair staring at the ceiling deep in thought. I snuggle up to him giving him a squeeze. "Morning beautiful, did you sleep well?" I nod my head. "Feeling any better today?"

"Yeah. I was scared I might get pulled back if I went to sleep but I guess I passed out. Did you get any sleep?" I ask not even looking up to him, I know he doesn't blame me but I still feel guilty.

"A little. I have lots of work to do today but I wanted to let you rest. You can either come with me to talk to our guest in the hospital she is ready to be discharged but we need to find out what happened to her before we can figure out what to do with her. Or you can stay here and relax, watch TV or read. What would you like to do?" Luke's looks at me love and sadness in his eyes.

"I need to work out some frustration. Is there a gym here? I need to punch something and imagine it's Drake." I say.

Luke laughs "yeah I will take you there. You have missed a few training days anyway," he winks at me and I smile. "Alright beautiful get dressed and I will take you there after you eat something."

After breakfast Luke takes me to a building on the edge of the training grounds, inside is a large room with punching bags, weights , treadmills and all the state of the art work out machines. He gives me a kiss "kick some ass beautiful I will see you later." He turns and leaves as Darlien walks in.

"Ana you're okay? I am so glad to see you. No one wants to spar me at training," her smile is huge as she walks up to me and gives me a hug.

"Yeah I am sorry I had some ex husband issues." I say smiling softly.

"Luke would not tell anyone what happened. If you need to talk I am here. I know I am young but I make a good listener." 

"Thanks but right now I just want to beat something up."

"Come on I will help," she says, leading me to the punching bags. Three hours of hitting, lifting, running and sparing I feel so much better. "Hey let's get something to eat. There is a little dinner run by the packs omegas. The food is to die for. Darlien drags me to this cute little building, it looks like a fifties dinner. We take a seat in one of the booths and a young man comes and takes our order, he smiles at Darlien like he has a crush.

"So the waiter likes you." I say matter of fact like.

"Oh he's sweet but no he is 18 he will be finding his mate soon. I am only 16 he wouldn't be interested in me" she dismisses me.

"Luke and I are 5 years apart, plus I spent over 5 years with the wrong guy. What's 2 years, Luke spent 10 years waiting for me. If he is your mate would he know or do you both have to be 18?"

"Well I don't know maybe. We went to school together so he knows I am younger if we are and if he knows he may be waiting for me to get my wolf and find out for myself. But that's a lot of ifs." She shrugs her shoulders. 

The waiter brings our food out, sets it on the table and pulls a chair over to sit looking right at Darlien. "That is a lot of ifs but it could be true. Just make sure to come find me in 2 years and see for yourself cutie." And he walks away leaving Darliens jaw on the floor.

Laughing I look at her "I told you. Maybe you could hang out with him, get to know him before the mate attraction takes in." Darlien snaps her head towards me and sticks out her tongue, "oh so mature," I say, throwing a frie at her.

"Oh like you're one to talk," we both laugh. Darlien is like a little sister to me, a little sister who could probably be the only woman who could kick my ass. We laugh all the way through lunch and then we part ways with a hug. I need to find my mate. I miss him and it's only been half a day. 

I check his office and he is not there. I check our room and not there either. I grab my phone and begin to text him,

'Hey I miss you where are you?'

No reply. I guess I will watch a movie and wait for him. I put on some stupid romantic comedy and space out thinking of Luke. I love him, I want to spend the rest of my life by his side. The more I sit and think I wonder why we haven't finished mating yet. I mean what's holding us back, what's holding me back. I try and I try to think of some reason not to go all the way with Luke. My mind is made up, tonight I mate with Luke…

"Luna, Luna! There you are thank Goddess I found you," Jake comes rushing in.

"Hey Jake, you know you can call me Ana right?"

"Not now Luna, Alpha needs you to come with me,"he grabs my arm and starts to pull me through the house and out the door.

"Where are we going? What's wrong with Luke?" I am tripping over my own feet Jake is running and dragging me along.

"While you were in the room there was an attack by rough vampires and Alpha fought them off but was injured in the fight. Being close to your mate heals you faster. Be prepared it's not pretty but he needs you."

With that I ran to the hospital I had to see Luke. He sat by my side while I was in the dark magic nightmare. No matter how unpretty I had to be there for him too.

I bust through the door and Doc is waiting "right this way Luna. Please brace yourself. He should heal but there will be scarring," I take a deep breath and nod my head. Doc opens the door and I see him.

Half his face is bandaged up. His chest and shoulder is bandaged too. I gasp and run to his good side grabbing his hand. "Oh Luke, thank goodness you're alive. I was just thinking about you when Jake came and got me. I ran as fast I could soon as Jake told me what happened."

"And boy do you run fast you left me in the dust. He is going to be fine now that you're here." Jake came into the room.

"Jake leave us I just want my mate here thank you for getting her to me," Luke says looking towards the door at Jake. Jake nods his head and leaves us alone. Luke squeezes my hand causing me to look at him. "Beautiful thank you for being her with me. I am feeling better already. I need to rest, Docs orders please stay with me."

"I wouldn't even think of leaving you," Luke closes his eyes and quickly falls asleep. I sit in the chair next to his bed, eventually I fall asleep as well.

I don't know how long I was asleep but I woke when the door to the room opened. Doc walks in with a clipboard. She checks the monitors and scribbles on the paper. "I need to check his wounds and change the bandages." I move out of the way and watch. She removes the chest and shoulder bandage first. He has several deep cuts but it wasn't bleeding, if a human had these they would still be bleeding if not dead. My eyes begin to tear up thinking that I could have lost Luke. Doc finishes and moves on to his face. The whole left side of his face is sliced from about his eyebrow down his check all the way to his chin. I gasp and touch my own face, how much pain is he in? My god what happened? Doc puts fresh bandages on, "he is looking a lot better, should be just scars by tomorrow morning, until then I would like him to stay the night. Would you like a cot moved in so you can sleep near him?"

"Yes please, and Doc is he in pain? I have never seen injuries so bad before."

"He most likely hurts yes but Alpha is strong. He has faced many a foe and many injuries. Never quite as bad but he will be just fine with you by his side. I know it's difficult to see him like this but being here helps him." I just nod my head and look at Luke. I haven't even told him yet that I want to finish the mating process, it will have to wait till morning. Soon a nurse brought in the cot and she helped me set it up right next to Luke's bed so I could hold his hand. He hasn't woken up since I first got here. 

I try to sleep but I can't, I lay on my side watching Luke. "I don't know if you can hear me" I whisper, "I just can't sleep. I want to tell you that I love you and I can't live without you. I am ready as soon as you are better. I want to mate with you. I am sorry it took me so long to decide what my heart and body knew the moment I ran into the brick wall you call your body. Doc says you will be healed by morning. It's amazing how quickly you can heal." I keep talking, telling him about my day, about my theory of Darliens mate and just other nonsense till I eventually fall asleep.
