Chapter Four

I woke up to my phone ringing. I look to see my ex's number. I smack Luke in the chest.

"Huh what, what's wrong, beautiful?"

"It's my ex."

" Answer it, I already put a trace on it the moment we realized who your ex is," I nod about to answer. "Act normal" his final words of advice before I answer.

"It's 3 o'clock in the morning what hell do you want,"

"Oh is that really how you should talk to the love of your life?"

"You left me for another woman, if you were really the love of my life that would not have happened."

"What do you do want Drake?

"Well I know you had a man at your apartment the other night and now two nights in a row you are not home." He says matter of fact like, has he been watching me? "Now tell me where you are so I can make sure you're safe sweetie."

"My safety is none of your concern, I am not some little girl who needs you to protect."

"DO YOU EVEN KNOW THE THE BEAST YOUR SHAKING UP WITH!?!" Drake is angry now, more than that, he is pissed now.

"Who I chose to share a bed with stopped being your concern the moment you left to be with that other woman. All those business trips, late night meetings. f**k you, you never cared about my feelings then stop trying to act like you care now."

"Good job beautiful," he says before his eyes gloss over. Is this the mind link he was talking about. "I just spoke with Jake and the trace worked. He is in your apartment, I am sorry but you can't go back. We will just get you new clothes and anything else you need."

"I understand, well that f*****g sucks," I sigh out.

"So do I get to touch you that way you like big girl?" Luke asks, teasing me.

"Well you did do a good job the other night so maybe I will let you try again," I said, winking getting out of bed. Luke grabs my wrist, his eyes dark with lust.

"And where do you think you're going?"

"Bathroom I gotta pee" I say trying to wiggle free but damn he is too strong.

"Luke I have to pee this is not funny." Luke just laughs and walks away. He walks into the closet and brings out some plastic and towels.

"Luke couldn't you wait for me to use the bathroom?" He smiles grabbing another silk tie

My face red again as we reach the training grounds. Luke speaks up as we approach using a loud bumming voice, "Alright ladies and gentlemen I am sure you have all heard by now that I have finally found our Luna," cheers erupt from the crowd Luke waits for them to quiet down before continuing, "this is Ana she will be joining the youths today in training. Our Luna is human for now," he said winking at me. "She doesn't train the way we have and needs to become stronger in order to lead by my side. Remember she is new to this life but that does not mean go easy on her. I am placing her with the youths since they do not have wolves yet and are physically more on the same level." With that he grabs my hand leading me to a young man surrounded by teenagers. "Ana, this is Mason, our Junior trainer. I leave you in his hands to begin training." He kisses my cheek and leaves to join the more experienced warriors.

"Hello Ana, I realize this is your first day so I will be testing you and your strengths to see where we need to work," turning to the crowd he yells "Everyone listen up you heard Alpha this is your Luna treat her with respect but don't go easy on her. First we warm up 5 mile run follow me" with that Mason takes off into the woods and everyone follows including myself.

An hour later we finish and I am pumped to get started. One thing I failed to tell Luke was that I belonged to an MMA boxing gym and run 8 to 10 miles a day normally. Mason jogs up to me, "Not bad I figured I would have to pick you up after training like most first dayers."

"Well I never told Luke I already train on my own, granted with other humans so let's just see how the rest of the days go." 

"Darlien you and Ana up first" a young woman about 15 walks out of the crowd and into the circle I follow suit.

"Real quick any rules I should be aware of?" I yell back to Mason.

"Just don't kill each other, start whenever you're ready."

Darlien rushes straight at me throwing a right jab, I jump out of the way rolling behind her jumping up and putting her in a choke hold. She elbows me in the gut causing me to loosen my grip and she gets free. Damn she hits hard. She tries for another jab. I grab her wrist and uppercut lifting her from the ground and throwing her back. Her eyes get wide as she spits blood out on the ground. She jumps up, knocking me to the ground. From on top she straddles me throwing punches left and right. I attempt to block but a few get through one connecting with my left eye, oh that's going to bruise. I thrust my hips up, knocking her off balance. I grabbed her waist and spun so now I am on top throwing the punches now. I get a couple of rib shots in before I hear Mason yelling. "Break it up back on your feet now." I get up and help Darlien to her feet. "Alright ladies good fight you seem to be equally matched you two are now sparing buddies."

"Finally," Darlien sighs. I look at her confused, "No one is on my level either I beat them too bad and they don't want to fight me, or they already have their wolves and we are not allowed to spar because once you get your wolf you are faster and stronger. It took a human to join us for me to meet my match thank you "

I laugh and Darlien looks at me with a raised eyebrow. "I feel the same way. At the gym I trained at I would beat the other women too quickly and we are not allowed to fight the men 'because they are bigger' such bull. So glad to find someone to give me a good fight." We both laugh as Luke walks up to us.

"Really Ana, you didn't tell me you could fight." He looks slightly annoyed.

"You never asked," I say, shrugging my shoulder. "Didn't have much to do when my ex left on his trips and I wanted to get a work out so picked up fighting." 

"Speaking of your ex we need to talk. I have called Jake into a meeting so we can discuss what happened last night."

"Ok, I will see you tomorrow Darlien better bring your A game I want a challenge," I say waving goodbye.

Luke and I walk into his office and Jake is already sitting in one of the chairs in front of the desk. Luke takes his seat pulling me into his lap. "Alright Jake what do you have on Draken?"

"Well he hasn't left Ana's apartment all day I think waiting for her to come back. I give him a couple days at most before he starts looking for her." Jake says.

"I wish we could figure out what he has been up to and what he is planning,". Luke thinks aloud.

"Wait, I have an idea, let me see your computer," I tell him. Confused he opens his laptop and logs in. I pull up a private browser and an IP encryptor I always use. Then pull up Drake's email logging in no problem. "There you go. All his emails, he never changes his passwords. I just never snooped before because he always said his work was very private and I respected his privacy but f**k him now."

Jake grabs the laptop and begins to type away. "Luna you are a genius, I have now placed a silent copy so whenever he sends or receives an email or text message I will get a copy. I will keep you both updated if I run across anything of importance." Jake says proudly.

"You are both geniuses. Goddess you have out done yourself with my mate." Luke equally as proud. "I think we might finally be catching a break. I have been feeling like we were hitting brick wall after brick wall. Soon as we have some real evidence we will need to call in the other alphas for a meeting to discuss strategies."

"Yes Alpha, soon as I know something you will." Jake says getting up to leave.

"Oh Jake how is our guest doing?" Luke asks.

"She is healing well but still very stressed. Doc wants to give her more time before allowing visitors," Jake replies.

"Very well thank you," Luke waits until Jake shuts the door before turning to me. " How are you doing? Lots of changes in the last week for you," Luke looks concerned.

"Life is never like we think it's going to be. I have learned to go with the flow. I have gone from very low to some pretty big highs. I have to admit I am stressed out. Never in a million years did I think my ex would be a hunter of paranormal nor would I believe I would be with a werewolf and a leader at that. Now I am some Luna meant to lead a pack that I know nothing about. I have no idea what a Luna even does let alone how I as a human am supposed to do it." I sigh and snuggle into Luke's chest. It feels good to say that all aloud.

"I think you and my mother need to spend some more time together. She was the Luna and has been filling in while I waited for you. She can better explain what the job entails."

"That would be great. I know you have plans to change me, or at least Ty does," I chuckle as his eyes turn gray for only a second then back to blue. "But I still have a need to learn what to do before that happens."

Luke smiles big, "before as in you saying it will happen? Oh beautiful that is the best thing I have ever heard."

"Yes it will happen someday not sure when I will be ready for such a big change. I mean I can't go back so it's a big decision but yes if things continue to be good with us then I will."

"Goddess as my witness I will do everything to make you happy. Whatever it takes I will do it, all you have to do is ask," Luke sounds so happy and excited. It makes me so happy to see him like this.

"Just keep being you, you're doing a great job already," I say smiling.
