PAST GRAYSON’S POV: Detention day two was in the records room on the second floor. Which was ridiculous, because I was pretty sure they were inventing new locations just to t*****e us. I hadn’t even known the school owned a records room. And staying true to its non-existent reputation, the room was a mess. The place was about the size of a classroom, lined with floor-to-wall shelves sagging under the weight of forgotten files. Dust hung so thick in the air it scratched at my throat with every breath.
