Dancing the night off

After they got to know that their classes were canceled for the day, both headed to Rimi's room. Rimi just like Ignisia came a day before and had arranged all her stuff in the right places. The other cupboard was also occupied which meant her roommate might have arrived but was nowhere to be seen. She must have gone for the classes, thought Ignisia. 

Rimi had some friends on the campus and they were having a party to kick start the semester in style. Rimi was going to wear a black bodycon for the night and so she started painting her nails black. Ignisia on the other hand still couldn't decide whether to join Rimi for the party or not.

"I have never been to any such party!" Exclaimed Ignisia for the hundredth time.

"But you are going to love it there!" Exclaimed Rimi, giving Ignisia reasons to join her.

After Rimi finished painting her nails, she looked up. "What's the problem Ignisia? You can tell me, it's okay!" She asked with worried eyes.

"Um... actually... I don't think I have the right dress to wear for the party! Though I do have a blue sheath, which I bought to wear at our freshers' party tonight... I am not sure!" Ignisia said shyly.

Rimi burst out in laughter, but then controlled herself. She looked into her eyes and said  "I am sorry for creating this pressure, but it's just a casual party, you don't need to be any particular about this. Plus if you want to save your dress for the freshers' then you can borrow mine. I think we are almost the same size! And dare not ever you say you don't have any clothes to wear. You are always welcome here. My wardrobe is yours and yours is mine!"

Ignisia was shocked at this offer, "Are you sure?" She asked.

"Yes! Whatever is mine is yours but not my man, always remember that"

And both started laughing. 

Ignisia asked her if she had any boyfriend. Rimi replied, "not yet, but if in future I do have... you know.. I am talking about that".

Ignisia painted her nails in nude, as she was unsure of what she might end up wearing. Rimi gave some of her dresses to Ignisia for trials, which she took back to her room. 

It was six in the evening and as planned Ignisia and Rimi were supposed to meet at the hostel gate by 7 pm. Ignisia still couldn't decide what to wear for the party where Rimi was taking her to.

Standing in front of the mirror, she looked at herself. Wrapped in the towels she touched her collarbones. I love these and so she decided to wear Rimi's denim off-shoulder dress. It was M size and it fit her just perfectly. The dress had ruffled three-fourth sleeves and had a denim belt attach to it, which defined her shape more profoundly near the waist. She kept her long straight hairs open, dividing them in the middle. She wore a black choker and did dark eyes and wore a nude pink shade lipstick. She paired her dress with a black Chelsea boot that she brought from home and wore the only watch she had. It had a brown belt with a circular dial- a pretty simple one. She looked at her watch, it's almost time. 

All dressed up, she went to see Rimi. Rimi looked gorgeous in her black bodycon. It was sleeveless and accentuated her body curves at the right spot. She had kept her short hair loose and had curled her locks, which framed her face right. "Damn girl! You are rocking those high heels!" Exclaimed Ignisia. "I hope I manage it tonight" replied Rimi. "Aren't you too decked up for the casual party?" Inquired Ignisia. Rimi dismissed it with her hand and asked  "you need any clutch or purse for the night?" Ignisia seemed confused so Rimi said "never mind! I am going to carry this clutch of mine and I think your phone can fit in here along with me. Just don't stray away from me at the party!" Informed Rimi. 

Ignisia looked at her watch. "It's already seven, when does the party start?" She inquired. "At 6, but nobody comes on time, in fact, we are running quite early so relax and let's head out" informed Rimi.

They did an Uber to reach the place. It was only 10 mins away from their hostel but outside the campus area. Both of them got out of the car. Ignisia looked clueless as to where they were. She was searching for someplace which looked like a party but could see nothing except boring houses all lined together one after the other. Rimi saw the worry in Ignisia's eyes and informed her that the party is in an open field on the other side of the house. The uber doesn't go there and so it dropped them here. Ignisia followed Rimi's lead to the party, to the apparently open field. As they walked, Ignisia could hear some noise, some music in the background. "Grooving time," Ignisia thought to herself and started walking in the rhythm of the music. After two minutes of a brisk walk, they entered the field. The field was not so huge, with walls on all its sides. There were small lights kept at a distance to guide the people. There was a small stage, looked like a temporary one as if built for this party. There were speakers and an infamous Dj. Gallons of water was kept at the corner with plastic cups to keep the folks hydrated. Ignisia inquired about drinks and snacks for Rimi. "They don't do it here. If you wanna drink or smoke, you need to bring your own stuff here. People come here to dance, have fun, meet people, and if you feel thirsty from all the dancing then you can go help yourself with the water there" she pointed to the counter which Ignisia had already noticed. 

Ignisia never went to any party or get-together after school. This was her first party, but it was nothing like what she had seen in movies or TV shows. It was too bland to even be called a party. But yes, she did like the music being played, something positive, she thought. 

Both of them were moving their body along with the rhythm of the music when Rimi waved to someone behind her. She looked around to see a boy waving back to Rimi. He came close and stood beside her. Rimi hugged him tight, "I wasn't expecting you here", she said as she released him. 

"I was getting bored and so I just came. I knew I would find you!" 

"Don't pester me, and don't tell me you came all alone?!"

"Oh, God! For once I thought I could fool you. I came with my boys. We were dancing on the other side when I saw you." 

"Good! You came.  By the way, she's Ignisia, and Ignisia he is PJ." 

"Hi," PJ said as he shared hands with Ignisa.

Ignisia replied with a nod.

"So I better be get going, my mates must be waiting for me." And off he vanished in the crowd behind.

"Who was this guy?" Inquired Ignisia. 

"He's my school friend. He lives in my neighborhood. We practically grew up together."

"Oh!", that's good, Ignisia thought, as she might be able to see him more often.

"Do you want to smoke or drink or anything like that? I think his mates might have the required stuff".

"No, no. I am just fine." 

"Okay! As you wish".

It was almost eleven when they both reached their hostel. Both of them were hungry from all the dancing and jumping so they came back. Ignisia had some packed snacks in her room. They both went to her room and fed themselves till both of them fell to the bed, exhausted. 

"So, did you enjoy dancing your legs off?" Asked Rimi.

"Oh yeah! A first for me... "

"Well, I guess you are going to experience many more firsts in my company. "

"I would really love that."

And they both giggled off to sleep together.
