Kelvin’s shriek of delight was the first thing I heard as the sun began to peek through the curtains. I smiled to myself, turning over in bed and pulling the blanket tighter around my shoulders. A few moments later, I heard the sound of tiny feet pounding down the hall, followed by her bedroom door bursting open. “Mom! Mom! Did you see my room?” Kelvin exclaimed, his face glowing with excitement. I sat up, pretending to look confused. “Your room? What about it?” “It’s amazing! There’s a Christmas tree! And lights!
