Dinner is awkward that night as I remember it. Ryan tries hard to be okay and talk with the twin, but I guess he's not his usual self after the encounter with Julian. How bad does the past affect him I wonder, and I can't even ask him. Suddenly my mind catches up and the only person I could ask is... Julian.
I ring him up quickly and he picks up after two rings as if he's waiting for my call.
"Hey...lovely. I wonder when will you call me. And I got lucky after almost... a week? That's very fast, lovely"

I nod slowly but notices that he can't see me so I responded with a 'hm' instead.
"And he has been distant since then?"
"Yes and no. He still contacts me and comes to the cafe, but..."
