Tessa POV
Kevin looked as shocked as I was at the sight of Richard walking towards us. He hid it quickly as he said,
"Chief, hello."
"Hello." His tone was curt.
"I-i saw her and thought she was working or something," Kevin explained. "Cuz she's dressed up and all. Then she left building. She shouldn't be out here on her own."
From his reaction, I determined that the two hadn't come together like I initially thought.
Richard gave no comment. Instead, his focus was on me as I turned around to return inside the restaurant. It was safe in there. There were humans and even a police male.
"Think, Tessa," I whispered aloud, almost running.
