The award for the best entrepreneur of the year in California goes to..... Lyrics Blank!'' the host of the show announced, but her voice was drowned in the crowd's applause as they all cheered loudly and gave her a standing ovation.

Lyric, who had been sitting beside her partner and husband Richard, was shocked when she heard her name; her husband pulled her up and hugged her as he whispered into her ear '' I'm proud of you, my love''. She nodded and smiled as she walked up to the stage to collect her award.

'' Hey everyone, hmm, I'm happy to be here and tall on stage tonight, and it's all thanks to Star Trends for this recognition. To my family and team, and lastly, to my husband Richard, who has always loved me and supported me in every way. Thank you, darling'' she said, smiling as she continued her speech. ''this award represents our collective effort............''

She ended her speech with a big smile and took a picture with family and friends. After the awards show, she and her husband got separated as he said earlier '' Baby, I have something I need to do urgently, you can go ahead. I will meet you at the after party''

''Don't take too long, though I would love to dance with you!'' she said excitedly and entered the car first.

The party was being held on a huge yacht called Merlin. The buzz of champagne and conversation filled the air, and in every corner, you could see people gathered in groups having a conversation and laughing; Lyric looked around to see which group she should approach when she heard a familiar voice behind her.

''If it wasn't the star of the night!'' the person said, mocking her, which made Lyric turn around; she knew she would be there, but what shocked her was the protruding belly of her cousin Sarah, who was smiling at her.

'' You are pregnant? How come?'' Lyric asked, tilting her head'' Oh my gosh, your question got me spinning, but I will answer them '' she grinned, rubbing her hands on her belly '' well it's been months now, as you can see, and my lover... oh I mean soon to be husband does not want me to stress myself so he asked me to stay in more''. She explained

''Oh? And who is he?'' lyric asked '' Well, he wants to stay anonymous for a while, I think you know...'' She was cut short by the arrival of Richard, who wrapped his hands around Lyric and kissed her cheeks.'' Richard, have you seen Sarah?'' she turned and tried to gist her husband. By then Sarah had already left.

''That's she's pregnant? I can see that, and I think everyone can see that, my love''. He replied '' but don't you think that ....'' yet again she was caught off by another familiar voice '' Lyric!'' Imani screamed and ran to her, hugging her tightly, and behind Imani was Ben, who was holding on to Imani's bag and his while walking slowly towards them.

''Girl, I'm so proud of you!!!! I posted your success and speech on i********: and t****k! Everyone needs to know that you won this night, and you own it girl'' Imani said excitedly when she let go of her. Ben got to hug her as he said '' You looked hella sexy on stage tonight '' '' stop talking like that, Ben. One would think you are flirting'' imani corrected him which made Lyric laugh.

Ben, Lyric, and Imani are childhood friends. Ben is a model, and Imani sings and Lyrics is an upcoming businesswoman who is finally being recognized. They have promised themselves this future since they were six. '' But I'm not, though; I'm gay as f**k. Do I look manly enough for anyone to think that?'' Ben questioned, rolling his eyes '' You don't have to'' lyric chirped in.

''Well............'' Ben continued the conversation, which they all got hooked on. Amidst all this, they had not realized that Richard had slipped away.

Lyric finally felt his absence sooner than later and asked '' hey did you see where Richard went?'' ''No,'' Imani stated.'' I was also so invested in whatever we were talking about that I didn't realize that he had left,'' Ben added.

''Hey, he probably left for drinks; I mean, you don't have anything in your hands,'' Imani said, trying to calm her down. She nodded and tried to believe that, but she was restless.

A few minutes later, he was still not back, so she decided to look for him. She excused herself from her friends and walked around, her friends decided to stay behind in case he came back before her.

She took out her phone and called him but, no reply. She walked onto the yacht and went to the only stairs leading up to where the party was being held since he was nowhere. She entered a corridor and was about to give up and leave when she heard whispering, walking in the direction of the voice which led to a cabin she saw from the entrance. Although they did not turn on all the lights, she could see two people having s*x on a table.

She rolled her eyes at the sight and was about to leave when she heard someone familiar. It was Sarah. She bent a little as she watched her being f****d, not that she was interested in watching them, but she was curious about who the mysterious man could be.

Sarah's moans got louder, which made Lyric regret her decision to stay behind. Finally, the couple was done, and they finally came into the light; the face she saw was so familiar that she did not want to believe it; she immediately took out her phone and called her husband.

The familiar ringing tone rang out, and she felt heartbroken and scared at the same time; she saw her husband declining her call and putting back his phone in his pocket.

Her legs shook in fear as she tried to walk straight back to the cockpit where her friends were, but she was so lost in thought and walking too close to the handrails that she bumped into someone and lost her balance as she fell into the ocean.

'' Ah!!!!!!'' she shouted, getting the attention of the other people on the deck who ran to where her voice came from. They all gasped as many people, especially the men, jumped in to save her, but they were too late as Lyric had already sunk deep into the ocean.

''I'm tired'' she said weakly as she lost consciousness in the water.
