As soon as Killian walked out of the house, silence wrapped around the house like a thick fog. I stood still for a moment, listening to the door click shut, then finally allowed myself to breathe.
The house was beautiful. Tastefully furnished, quiet, and warm. I took my time walking through every room, capturing photos as I went. Maybe for memories, maybe to remind myself that I was finally doing something for me. The silence helped me think… or maybe it helped me not to.
