The day had been a whirlwind, and I was still riding the high of it.
After those interviews, I felt like a woman on a mission. I told Dave to take me to the nearest gadget store, I needed a new laptop. Something sleek. Something fast. Something that screamed I’m a boss now.
I got exactly that.
My fingers had barely touched the new keyboard and I already felt more powerful. It was like a fresh beginning was bleeding into every inch of my life.
When I got home, I flung my shoes aside, tossed my bag onto the sofa, and without even thinking twice, I picked up my phone and called Killian.
