11 I want to shut my eyes, but it’s too late. April’s already caught me looking at her. Yesterday, after the doctor finished his lecture, the nurse asked for an emergency contact, and, against my better judgment, and under the influence of pain reliever and peanut butter, I gave her April’s information. When the nurse called, April’s phone was off. She and Howie had taken the girls to Six Flags and, when they got home, it was so late they all went straight to bed.
