58 As I close my eyes to begin this morning’s meditation, I think, I’m glad I peed, then, Did I turn the light off in the bathroom? I get up, assure myself that I did, indeed, turn off the lights, return to my meditation cushion, reset the timer, and start over. I’m the worst at meditation. Intentional mental emptying is completely different from drunken blacking out. I like clearing my mind, but, more often than not, I’ll wander away from thinking about my breath and end up on a five-minute mental detour before bringing myself back.
