ADELINE My nerves went wild as I followed Wesley into the party, my arm linked in his. He assured me time and time again that after the party that he’ll take me home. I don’t believe him though so I had Jules on standby just in case. The house we walk into is exactly what I expect the party to look like. Beer bongs hanging from the staircase, stereo bass booming and shaking the wooden floors, a lingering smell of old sweaty gym clothes masked with cheap cologne. Eyes fell on us as we walked in through a crowd of sweaty bodies. He shakes up some of his guys and I say hi to the guys’ girlfriends. I sip from a beer someone hands me while I stand awkwardly in the circle of guys. Wes drapes his arm affectionately around me as he talks to his teammates. My mind drifts from their conversation
