Sofia sat on Lucian's bed admiring it. It was beautiful and masculine. Her step sister had not managed to convince him to change it. Now that her sister was gone, she needed to try and conceive so that Lucian would marry her. She knew she didn't have any business to offer like her sister did but she could offer him a baby something Valerie was never able to do.
Walking out of the bedroom, she shouted for the help and the older woman came sweating. She ordered her breakfast and continued looking at her phone searching for the best ways to conceive quickly. She had a plan in place already; Lying to Lucian she was on family planning then telling him it failed her. She knew he'd be thrilled.

Lucia was fussing over Victoria. She'd be leaving in a few minutes to the mansion. This was Lucia's retirement plan if she didn't land a much richer husband than Enzo. She stared at her niece who looked dazzling. With her blonde hair, grey eyes, skin that barely had any blemish on it and a curvy body, no man stood a chance of saying no to her. Well, unless he was crippled which was the case of her host.
Victoria felt like a goddess. She was dressed in a skimpy red dress that showed curves in all right places. She was always confident with her looks and even after the abortion, she still looked amazing. She'd put in her best foot forward. This plan was her ticket out of needing to work or to be nice to rich men for money.
A knock came and it was the guy Luca. It was too bad Victoria didn't fancy guys. She'd have lived with the cripple and slept with his guard throughout. He was tall and built. He had an air of authority around him and looks that would easily make him a cover model. If her girlfriend ever visited, she was keeping her bi ass off this guard's path. Luca cast her a glance. His expression was awfully neutral. Victoria knew he was hiding his admiration. Before she could say anything, he held the door open for her. Lucia hugged her and a few fake tears were shed.
"Take care of yourself little one. I love you. I wish they allowed me to come stay with you," she whined.
At this, Victoria almost burst out laughing. Her aunt never loved anyone. In fact, when she was younger, she remembers her mother referring to Lucia as Socio. She later came to find out it was sociopath.
Victoria loved having people attend to her. The other guy with Luca took her suitcase and all she did was walk towards the jeep that was waiting for her.
Lucia watched Victoria leave. She wished it was herself but she was coming to accept she was older now but still beautiful. She sat down and smiled. This time there were no loose ends. The security cameras from the brothel were destroyed and the guard on duty the night Dante slept with Victoria had recently been involved in an accident that she may or may have not planned.. And to top it all, Valerie was dead with her twins. With that thought, she dialled Lucian's number. She needed to see her body lowered to the grave.
"Hi," he answered gruffly.
"You know why i am calling,"she replied.
"I am headed to your place now."
Before she could ask any more questions, he hung up on her. She walked to the kitchen to find Ira, the help taking breakfast..Soon as she saw Lucia, she stood up and awkwardly tried to hide her food.
"Ira make breakfast for two. And take your breakfast elsewhere. No food in this house is for the help," She said in a cold voice and left. Ira wasn't shocked. This was literally the mean people house. Apart from Valerie who showed her kindness, the others treated her like trash. It was way worse with the brat Sofia. Every day Ira wished Valerie would come by, but then she had seen the people here break her. After she got her twins, it got worse. It was like they were trying to kill the babies for her. Every time Ira saw her, she had a bruise and was always in long sleeved clothes. She'd also be trying to defend her children.
Ira wanted to help her so bad. Her documents were confiscated by Lucia and she knew they had connections. If Valerie hadn't managed to get help from authorities, who was she to get any? She was just an immigrant without documents. They would see her deported. This wasn't an option for her. She needed the money for her family to survive.
Lucian rang the doorbell impatiently. He needed to get all the information she could get from Lucia. When she answered she looked like she had just freshened up. Lucian didn't really care about how she looked. She could have three eyes for all he cared.
Ira served them breakfast and was walking away when she heard the name Valerie. She pretended to pick a few items and managed to gather that the girl was missing. Worse still, they were hoping she was dead. She walked to the kitchen, closed the door and sat against it. As she sat there listening to them, tears rolled down her face. Her heart broke for Valerie. That girl had never known what being loved was like. Every time Ira tried to be kind to her and Lucia found out, they were both admonished and she was punished. With her pregnancy, she'd sworn to love and protect her babies but those around her had out powered her.
"Do you know of any relatives that she could go to?" Lucian asked sounding impatient.
"No," Came the reply.
"Would you make yourself useful and try finding out?" he demanded.
"Look, whether she is dead or not i don't care. What am i to gain?" She replied defiantly.
"Don't play games with me Lucia. I can tell it's important to you for Valerie to be dead. With her bastards. I am yet to find out why but trust me i will. And you won't be liking it." His voice was so cold that it sent shivers down Lucia's spine. She knew he was capable of anything.
Lucian observed the woman try to hide her fear. He could feel himself get excited. However, he had to calm down. His mafia bosses would hate it if he had attention drawn to himself which would have attention drawn to them.
"Why is Victoria in town and why did she leave with Dante's guard?"
Lucia almost chocked on her coffee.
"What?" She stuttered.
"You know exactly what i mean." He replied.
" Fine. She is one of the w****s they're hiring to keep their crippled son company," she replied.
Surprisingly, Lucian whistled.
"She must be good. Tell her to make herself useful. I'd like to know why my bosses lets that family run their businesses freely. It's my area. I should be getting something out of it."
With that, he stood up to leave. He had a few officers to talk to.
Lucia sighed with relief. She couldn't believe that he actually believed that. Now, she just needed to make sure Victoria and Lucian never crossed paths.
