In the bar Garry and Drake stood there no one was saying anything to the other till suddenly Garry grabbed a huge knife and was making his way to Drake. Drake panicked and rose both of his hand in a surrender motion, he knew we could he could take down Garry in a matter of seconds but that would ruin his chances in staying in the bar and hopefully finding a lead that would later lead him to Mike. Garry:"Who are you boy and what are you doing n my kitchen? Are you a thug? Huh?!" Drake:"Hey Man, calm down, Timothy just hired me as a bouncer, he told me to come here and ask you to fix me something to eat before I start work" Garry looked at him up and down still a bit suspicious then relaxed and put the knife down. Garry:"About time Timothy hired a bouncer or this first of month madness" Drake relaxed and put his hands down. Drake:"Yeah, I've just saved Timothy out there from a crazy drunk, that how I got hired" Garry:"OK, What do you want to have?" Drake:"Just a burger would be fine, I'm Dan by the way" Drake reached Garry for a handshake and Garry took his hand in a firm grip Garry:"Garry, quite the grip you got there son, ex-military" Drake:"Yeah, like many other's I've left the force after the Meta war" Garry nodded in understanding and pointed to Drake at where he could sit and wait for his food. Drake looked around the kitchen and couldn't help to feel like there was something off about the place maybe something missing. He shook his head at the ridiculous thought, he's never been here before, how could he that something was missing. Garry finished preparing the sandwich and handed it over to Drake. Garry:"So I have never seen you around, where're you from?" Drake:"New Jersey, I've lost my family in the war and been moving around ever since" Drake knew that if he didn't give Garry a sad story he would continue asking him questions and Drake wanted to be outside as soon as possible in case something happens. Garry:"Sorry for your loss, everyone lost something in that terrible war" Drake finished eating, thanked Garry and went back outside. The bar was even more crowded than before, he took a seat beside the door and hoped for the best. Few hours later, Drake has already kicked out at least a dozen of drunk fools and broke ten fights and no sign of the resistance, he was at his limit and felt like he will soon snap and kill someone. Timothy waived at him and Drake went to see what he needed. Timothy:"You're doing great there, wish I had ran into you a lot sooner hahaha, here you look like you need a drink" Drake took the cold beer from him and chugged half the bottle in one go. Timothy laughed and patted him on the back. A group of men entered the bar and Timothy's mood darkened. Timothy:"Uh oh, here come trouble, Ok, keep an eye on those guys who just came and be careful" Drake looked at them, they looked suspicions, they were scanning the place then went to the last booth in the bar, the men who were already sitting they got up and left the booth quickly for them to take it. Drake:"They regulars?!" Timothy:" The bad kind of regular, I don't exactly what their deal is but every few days they come here order beers an stick around just watching people, sometimes they talk to few men and leave with them, maybe they're in a gang or something, just be careful around them" Timothy went back to work and Drake looked back at the men, there very high chance those guys were the ones he's looking for and he needs to get their attention somehow. Like Timothy said they have ordered beers, talked to some men, the guy in the far end of the booth hadn't moved since they arrive so Drake thought that's defiantly the man in charge, every now and then Drake would feel the guy looking at him, out of the corner of his eye he saw the leader saying something to the guy sitting beside him then the other guy looked in Drake's direction nodded at the leader and got up from his seat making his way to Drake. Guy:"Hey man, you got a light?" Drake replied to the guy without looking at him "No", the guy chuckled and told Drake "why princess? You don't smoke?" Drake clenched his fist and ignored the annoying guy, he guy continued laughing stupidly then shoved Drake and said "What tough guy I said I want a light so go get me a damn lighter", quickly Drake held the guys arm before he manages to shove him again and held him in a chokehold and said "OK douche bag, time to go home" the guy struggled and tried to break free from Drake's hold but couldn't, then the leader got up and came to them. Leader:"Hey there, I'm so sorry for my friend I think he had a little too much to drink, just let him go and he will leave now" Drake looked at the guy and let him go. The leader thanked Drake and reached out his hand to Drake in a handshake. Leader:"I'm Jason, and you are?" Drake "Working" Jason laughed and stopped Drake from leaving by placing his hand on Drake's shoulder, Drake looked at Jason's hand and back at him with a raised brow, Jason raised his hand in a surrender motion. Jason:"I just want to have a friendly chat with you that's all" Drake:"And like I said I'm talking and I don't want to lose my job because you want to have a friendly chat" Jason admired Drake's courage and commitment not to mention his strength, he was sure he was an ex-soldiers and they were the best to recruit not those drunk fools he meets every night. He then took a piece of paper and wrote a number on it and handed it to Drake. Jason:"I respect your commitment in work and I have a job proposition for you that I'm sure will interest you greatly after your work is done why don't you give me a call" Drake took the paper, nodded at him and left back to his seat, Jason signaled the other men and they all left the bar. Finally the day ended Garry was cleaning up the kitchen, Timothy was counting the money and Drake was helping in cleaning up the bar. Timothy called Drake and Drake left the mop and went to him. Timothy handed him an envelope that had some money in it judging by who thick the envelope was it was a very good amount. Timothy:"Thanks Dan, we've helped us a lot today, that was the smoothest first of the month we've ever had" Drake took the envelope from Timothy smiling and nodded at him, Garry went out of the kitchen and patted Drake on the back. Garry:"Nice work son, hope you'd stick around in town we might need you again" The bar door busted open, Drake was on high alert and quickly reached for the knife he was keeping on his belt but then he found a dog running in Garry's direction and Garry greeted him happily. He was a little confused seeing the big man playing with the dog and making baby noises, then he heard the door opening again and a girl walked in. As soon as he saw her he felt like the world stopped around him and all he could see were her beautiful doe eyes, her light perfect skin and her breath taking brown curls behind her ears. He wanted to reach out and touch it to see if they were as soft as they looked. He looked at her body and almost felt weak in his knees "What an Angel". Drake woke from his day dreaming-to Garry's voice. Garry:"Hey Angel, I told not to come I can go home by myself nothing will happen to me" Garry went to Nelly and hugged her and Nelly noticed Drake standing, as soon as they made eye contact Drake's heart starting beating to fast and he felt something he has not felt for years.
