12 years later

“Damn I did not expect that he is able to wound me with that stupid attack tsk” – I heard Naelyon exclaimed. Naelyon is a water guardian with a face same as of a dragon but he is not a dragon. He is complaining about a large wound on his back and he even changed into his human form in order for us to see clearly how deep his wound actually is.

“Pssh that’s just a small wound Naelyon. Maybe it is because you are getting rusty for not fighting for almost two decades” – Rempo the black fire guardian mockingly said, dahilan para agad na umasim ang itsura ni Naelyon.

“Heto nanaman sila. Hindi mo ba sila pipigilan Astrid? tsk.” – Slyfer whispered which made me roll my eyes. Sa pagka-kaalam ko kay hindi dapat siya ‘in good terms’ sa mga guardians. He is supposed to hate them but right now I don’t know why but he is already interacting with them. Maybe it is because, from being a demon sword he became a guardian of the darkness.

“Nahiya naman sainyo na nanonood lang habang lumalaban ako” – Naelyon argued again which made me heave a deep sigh. Pangilang beses niya na bang nireklamo na nanonood lang daw ang ibang guardians at siya lang ang nakikipaglaban? Twenty? Thirty? Ewan hindi ko nadin mabilang.

“Gago lumalaban din naman kami, sadyang pasikat ka lang” – sabay na saad ni Igneous at ni Astro. Igneous is the red fire guardian while Astro is the blue fire guardian

“Baka gusto mong magyelo nagyon din Naelyon” – pagbabanta naman ng ice guardian na si Khufra kasabay ng paglabas ng ilang ice spikes sa kanyang likuran

“Wala akong kinalaman diyan, busy ako sa paggawa ng pader” – Grock, the earth guardian said while he shrugs his shoulders.

“I’m also busy purifying the air” – Freya the air guardian added.

At ako naman ay hindi ko nalang mapigilan ang mapailing dahil pinagtatalunan pa nila ang napakasimpleng bagay. I can’t even remember how many times this argument had happened. Hindi ko tuloy maiwasan ang mapahilot ng aking sentido dahil sa kabwisetan na nararamdaman ko.

“Can you guys just give it a rest already? And Naelyon, as a guardian, your wound heals fast so you don’t have to worry about scars and blood. You don’t have to make a big deal out of it” – seryosong saad ko at agad naman na tumango bilang pagsang-ayon sa sinabi ko ang ibang guardians and Naelyon on the other hand rolled his eyes while his lips pouted. His reaction made me heave a deep sigh.

It’s been twelve years since my biological parents died from helping me to survive the plane crush and the waves of the ocean. I regained the memories of my past lives, especially what happened in my recent past life in which I became the daughter of the demon king but even though I am his biological daughter, my magical attributes and my soul is not of a demon and that life ended before I could even reach the age of nineteen because once again, I sacrificed myself to seal the darkness away. I am also able to master my old and new abilities and I was able to summon the guardians. I can still remember how long it took me to be able to use half of my powers again.

It has also been twelve years since we all started to fight the monsters and demons lurking in the land of Thundra.

When I first came back to the place, I thought that the darkness was just unsealed and that there are still people who protects the wall that divides the Hollow Forest and the land of Thundra, but I am wrong.

I actually did not expect that the land of Thundra will fall and that it will be ruled by the monsters and demons, to the point that the sun is also nowhere to be found. So, when I saw how the place where I once lived in, I decided to begin the extermination and purification process. I did that to ensure that the sun will rise again, I am not expecting that there will be survivors, however, I felt a strange magical presence around the land.

The magic presence is the same as the portal I entered in going in the land of Thundra. I tried to find the said portal and when I opened It, I was really relieved to see and know that there have still been survivors. The survivors are common people, and I cannot sense any one who is part of the royal family there and of course since decades had already passed, the people there are quite different from before.

“So, Astrid, do you have any plans on leaving this forest?” – tanong ni Slyfer habang pinupunasan nito ang kanyang sandata na isang Scythe.  Palihim akong napatawa dahil napaka-ironic lang na ang dating scythe ay ngayon ay ang gamit din ay isang scythe.

“Maybe or maybe not. It depends on my mood” – tanging sagot ko nalang at agad kong pinikit ang aking mga mata. It’s been twelve years, yet I really did not change that much, unlike Slyfer. I am well informed that the curse has already been broken and this is the last part of the cycle, but even so I can honestly say that I am neither happy or sad.

Maybe because of the fact that my sacrifice to seal the darkness, once again did not work and also this time, I am the only one who remembers every single thing that happened, especially the names of the people who are involved in my past lives.

Well of course, I am able to remember their faces and names because it has always been the same. It’s just that their hair or eye colors change in every life while in my case nothing really changed in my appearance, in my behavior? I guess I did improve a bit, since I am not that hot tempered anymore and I can perfectly control my anger now unlike before.

And my guardians, I think they are the ones who did not really underwent some major changes, well except for Slyfer because now he is not trapped inside a weapon and he can already freely move but still since he is a demon, he still needs blood so he drinks from me for about once a week.  I did regained my memories but I can still feel that something is missing.
