Chapter 16: Clearing Out the Treasures
"Master."
The voice in her mind awakened Leng Lingyun. Opening her eyes, she saw the morning light filtering through the cave entrance. Just as she was about to get up, she realized with a start that she was still being held in the young man's arms. She frowned slightly and thought to herself, "What did you do last night?"
"Master, there were too many things. How could Bai Lan have managed to bring them back alone? Naturally, I mobilized the group of beasts to help. I did instruct them not to make too much noise," Bai Lan hurriedly explained.
"Good, everything has been brought back," Leng Lingyun said through gritted teeth.
"Yes, they're all outside," Bai Lan replied, shivering slightly.
"I'll be right out," she said, gently moving the young man's arm. He didn't wake up, but thinking about his previous statement that he wouldn't sever his five senses even in a coma, she still used her spiritual energy to tap the acupoint on his sleep point.
"Jin, thank you for these past two days, for making me feel what it's like to be protected. However, I believe we may not have any intersections in the future, so let's skip the farewell."
Leng Lingyun pulled her arm out from under his and slowly stood up. Looking at his sleeping handsome face, her eyes flickered faintly as she whispered. After speaking, she turned around and walked out of the cave.
As soon as she stepped out of the cave entrance, she froze in place. Was Bai Lan trying to move the entire forest?
Treasures, medicinal herbs, spiritual beasts, and even plants and trees were all lined up outside the cave entrance, stretching far into the distance. Leng Lingyun's mouth twitched.
Glancing at Bai Lan, she said coldly, "Are you trying to move the entire Misty Forest?"
"Master, Bai Lan has brought all the good things from the Misty Forest for you. You said your space was too quiet, so Bai Lan thought of bringing some various spiritual beasts in. But then worried they might not get used to it, so Bai Lan just brought their homes over too," Bai Lan explained in a flurry.
"I'm aware that all the spiritual beasts here know about my space," Leng Lingyun's gaze turned cold, shooting towards Bai Lan.
"With all due respect, Master, even if Bai Lan had the courage, Bai Lan wouldn't dare tell outsiders," Bai Lan hurriedly shook its head.
Hearing its words, Leng Lingyun felt slightly relieved but still hesitated.
"Master, you may not know this, but the Misty Forest has been under a spell since five years ago. The beasts in this forest cannot leave unless they die," Bai Lan explained again, perhaps sensing the owner's murderous intent.
"I just told them that if they caught the master's eye, the master could take them out, so they were so enthusiastic. In fact, we beasts rarely interact with the human world and have simple minds. Moreover, not many of them have awakened their spiritual intelligence, so the master doesn't need to worry," Bai Lan added.
"You said there's a spell on this Misty Forest?"
"Mhm, I don't know the specifics, but it seems that a spiritual treasure appeared in the Misty Forest five years ago. But by the time I got there, I found nothing. I guess some stinky python crocodile must have gotten it, but it didn't end well. It was killed by a group of humans a few days later," Bai Lan said.
For some reason, as it spoke, something seemed to flash faintly in her mind, but it was too quick and the image too blurry for her to grasp.
"Master, Master," Bai Lan called her back to her senses. Leng Lingyun was still frowning and pondering, "Master, what should we do with them?"
Leng Lingyun couldn't recall anything more and impatiently said, "I'll put them in my space. But the space is limited and might get very crowded. You'll have to help them coordinate later."
Without further examining the items, with a thought, a large number of objects disappeared from their original places.
After all the items were collected into her space, Leng Lingyun swayed slightly, holding her head with one hand and summoning Bai Lan again.
"Take me out of the forest. I need to go home."
"Master, without your space, Bai Lan can't leave."
"Mhm, just take me to the edge of the forest. I need to rest for a while. Call me when we get there."
"Yes, Master."
Bai Lan knew that she had used too much spiritual power just now and must be extremely tired. Without saying more, it carried her on its back and set off.
