Chapter 17: Leaving the Forest

No one noticed the tall figure in black standing quietly by the cave entrance not far behind them, watching as they departed, his eyes filled with deep emotions.

From the sounds of last night, he had guessed her intentions, so when she woke up in the morning, he didn't move.

With her current strength, even if she had pinned his acupoints, he could have broken free immediately. Knowing her thoughts, he didn't speak to keep her or say goodbye; he just silently thought to himself: No more intersections? Little girl Yun'er, we will definitely meet again.

Afterwards, he turned around and returned to the cave. With a wave of his hand, he collected the vine net and several animal skins she had used into his spatial ring, then with a few leaps, he disappeared into the forest.

"Master, we've arrived."

After Bai Lan had carried Leng Lingyun through the forest for an hour, it gradually slowed down and softly called out.

Leng Lingyun slowly opened her eyes. Although her little face was still somewhat pale, she was clearly more spirited than before.

Leng Lingyun leaped down from Bai Lan's back and carefully examined the surrounding terrain but didn't find anything unusual.

"I don't see the formation you mentioned here. It might be outside the forest. You should enter the space first; I'll take you out."

"As you command, Master," Bai Lan replied and then entered the space on its own.

Leng Lingyun walked forward and indeed, after not going far, she exited the forest. Standing at the edge of the forest, Leng Lingyun observed again.

The beast had two thick horns on its head, somewhat resembling a deer, but the only difference was that there was a white cloud pattern on each of its four hooves.

"That's a deer," Leng Lingyun asked, puzzled.

"What is a deer? Is it a very powerful spiritual beast? Bai Lan doesn't recognize it. It's a five-star Flying Cloud Beast," Bai Lan explained.

"Would you be willing to serve as my transportation?" Leng Lingyun asked, stepping forward.

The Flying Cloud Beast nodded desperately, looking pitiful. Although a five-star spiritual beast couldn't speak, it could understand.

"Alright, Bai Lan, let it go."

"Oh," Bai Lan replied while secretly glaring at the Flying Cloud Beast, with a hint of warning in its eyes.

The Flying Cloud Beast shrank back a bit and was then brought out of the space by Leng Lingyun.

Once out of the space, the Flying Cloud Beast seemed very excited. As soon as Leng Lingyun sat on its back, it immediately galloped away. Its hooves didn't touch the ground at all; it moved through the air steadily and at an incredible speed. What would normally take several hours on horseback only took half an hour with the Flying Cloud Beast, which was more than five times faster than an ordinary horse.

When they were far enough away to see the city gates, Leng Lingyun asked the Flying Cloud Beast to let her down. She patted its head in gratitude and then put it back into the space.
