Chapter Sixteen Milo Surprisingly, by morning I felt much better. My back was still tender when my shirt brushed over it, but I came to breakfast and refused to let anyone see I was sore. My grandmother gave me odd glances, and my mother pushed her and told her to stop it. "Are you sure you're well enough to go to school?" my mother asked. "I'm fine," I said.
