Huna's story
Masaya, Nicaragua, 120 B.C.
Huna sequestered Daisel inside the cave. It was the only place where he didn't feel the pull of her presence. He had allowed Hagan to live, but was now questioning that decision. He was a threat, but not the only danger Huna faced. If what Hagan had said was right, he would face being hunted and set on fire if captured.
The act of burning the bodies for the ash lacked reason. Huna understood why they would want to kill him after the wrath at the caldera, but what benefit was this precious Camazotz ash Hagan spoke of?
