“A Crisis in the Kitchen”
POV Ayesha
“I will be a slave for a year. I promise I won’t escape with Ayesha.”
“If I catch you escaping alone, you will still meet your end.”
“I need to tell my parents.”
“Ayesha can do that when she returns home tomorrow.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Ayesha can show you the ropes today, and tomorrow you start in the garden. You will report to my Beta Logan, not Katherine. Katherine will eat you alive. Now sit down and eat with us.”
Faith sits down and eats like she hasn’t eaten in days. I guess it would have taken her a while to get here. I can’t wait to hear of home and her journey here. It’s nice to have a friend and not feel so alone.
Thanatos gets up and ruffles my hair and heads off. The minute he is out of earshot. Faith leans into me and hugs me.
