Chapter 23
“The Lake”
POV Ayesha
We head outside and shift and go running for a couple of hours. We get back, and I shift and overplay how exhausted I am. I crawl into the bath and turn it on. I turn it off after it’s full and start to nod off from being so relaxed. He picks me up out of the bath, waking me up.
“There will be no drowning on my watch.” He wraps me in and towel, throws me on the bed, and he snuggles me until we fall asleep.
I wake up early and slide out of his arms and out of the room. I get dressed in my room and head to the kitchen and have breakfast with the staff.
“How did last night go, Ayesha?” Mya says.
“What do you mean?”
“I heard Thanatos hinting at s****l things.” Mya laughs.
