“Salem”
POV Ayesha
After dinner, I walk over to the hospital to visit Faith. She looks pale; she is hooked up to a dozen machines. At least she is still hanging in there. I move my chair closer to her and fall asleep leaning against her bed, holding her hand.
When I open my eyes, I’m back in Thanatos’ bed, and he has his arms wrapped around me. I feel bad for upsetting him earlier by talking about his brother and asking if I was his mate. I need to start just being more appreciative. Thanatos has been trying in his own way. Bringing up his brother or his first mate will only set him off, and I don’t want to hurt him. I don’t think I’m in love with him yet. However, I can no longer picture a world without him in it.
