“A Threat”
POV Ayesha
Pain, it shoots through me. It’s all around me. It’s intense and relentless. I can’t escape it. I don’t want to open my eyes. I feel hands all over me. I hear familiar voices. Then I vanish into darkness again.
“Ayesha”, a voice calls me. “Ayesha? Ayesha, can you hear me?”
The pain is gone, and I feel like I can breathe. I open my eyes, and Thanatos is standing there with a sad look on his face. There’s no one else in the room but us. I touch my belly and see the stitches and remember the intense pain.
I look up at him and start to cry. “Did I lose our baby?”
He continues to look at me and says nothing. He rubs my shoulder. The door opens, and he puts one finger to his mouth. Indicating to say nothing.
