Chapter 19: In Bloom
The next few weeks were a slow, steady rise.
Word spread about Mr. Sinclair’s dramatic appearance in the café—mostly thanks to Lola’s t****k recap titled “Rich Dad Tries to Roast My Bestie’s Boyfriend, Gets Toasted Instead.” It got over 200k views.
Customers came in curious, but they stayed because the place felt alive.
Evenings glowed with warm lights and music. Kids laughed during storytelling hours. Hina’s curated book corner became a small obsession, with townsfolk leaving post-it reviews on the walls.
Everywhere, love bloomed.
---
Hina was out back watering their little herb garden when Jordan walked up with a stack of envelopes.
“Mail delivery.”
“Anything good?”
“One wedding invitation, three bills, and—” He flipped the last envelope. “—this.”
She took it. Cream-colored. Embossed seal from the town Preservation Board.
Her stomach flipped.
She opened it slowly, her hands shaking.
Jordan read over her shoulder.
> "After careful consideration and community review, the board has decided to grant Bloom & Crumb full operating license and official historical integration status."
They both went silent.
Then Hina dropped the letter and jumped into Jordan’s arms, laughing.
He spun her around. “We did it!”
She kissed him hard. “We freaking did it.”
---
That night, the café was more than full. It overflowed.
Neighbors brought homemade pies and candles. Lola curated a playlist titled “We Saved the Café (Now Let’s Cry About It)”. Someone brought sparklers.
They danced.
They laughed.
They stood in the doorway together as people spilled into the street, wrapped in celebration.
“You look like you’re glowing,” Jordan said, brushing a curl from Hina’s face.
“It’s the stress sweat.”
He smiled. “It’s joy. Real joy.”
She glanced at him. “You still want forever?”
“I never stopped.”
Her fingers slid into his. “Then let’s start planning it.”
He blinked. “Wait. Are you saying—”
“Not a proposal. A promise. Let’s build the future together.”
He leaned in. “Starting now?”
“Right now.”
---
Later, they laid in bed, limbs tangled, silence soft between them.
Hina whispered, “We’re not just surviving anymore.”
Jordan kissed her forehead. “We’re blooming.”
Outside, the town slept. Inside, two hearts pulsed in sync.
Tomorrow waited. But for tonight, they had everything they needed.
