  The light from the door illuminated the room.   I had been engulfed in darkness, and the sudden light made me squint in reflex. A man dressed in a neat police uniform walked in, holding a folder, followed by a female officer. The desk lamp lit up, and the man sat behind the desk. After leisurely lighting a cigarette, he looked at me.   "Name? Age? Where are you from?"   This scene was something I'd only seen on TV before, and I never imagined that one day I would be the one being interrogated.
