Anomaly of Abilities Arc: The Moonlight Ape

1681 Words
A thousand swords made out of glass appeared in just one open of my eyes. All of them are scattered behind my back but are pointed in just one direction. It is all facing towards the target I commanded it to look at. I opened my mouth and commanded, "Go." All the swords immersely rushed towards the sphere of light that Elio summoned. It went straight forward each and one of them until the sphere of light was shredded into pieces and until, there was nothing left to see. I heard Elio's voice in shock and I must say, I myself was left in shock too. "That's certainly outstanding!" Elio shouted. After some moments of epiphany and shock, I smiled about what I had just done. However, things do have a lot of outcomes — especially those when unexpected. "But that just can't be done by a normal human." he doubted. Suddenly my hands were shivering and shaking. Was I too obvious? But all I did were out of my conscience and I accidentally did it without purposely doing it. "I have to tell you something." I told him. "Hmm?" He was busy doing something in his hands and could barely focus on my words. He also did not bother walking towards me. "Instead of being emotional, I have an idea!" he said in excitement. "Why don't we spar instead?" he asked. Spar? "What do you mean spar?" I asked him. "Spar means to fight each other." he explained. "I know what spar means! I mean why do you want to spar?" He walked closely towards me and he placed his arms on my shoulders, "It is to train ourselves Eli! Fighting each other would give us more experience and knowledge about whatever may we fight during the event." He didn't stop walking when he reached me though. He continued walking in front of me as he fixes his gloves. He stopped at a certain point — some distance in front of me which I couldn't really measure — and then faced at me. "Are you ready?" he asked me. I shooked my head and started to doubt whether is he joking or not, "I don't think I'm ready" "Oh come on, you'll be fine you just have to trust your guts!" he exclaimed. "Alright then, let's go!" he continued. He took a stance and a giant magic circle appeared on his side of the ground. It's not that big though, but it's huge enough to be described as bigger than him. Upon a few seconds a huge sphere of light appeared above him, taking the form of something I quite not know but have a clue of. As he forementioned, his variety is creating living beings through purple light so I must say it's something definitely big. Until I heard his voice, I knew what he was about to call. "Moonlight Ape!" he screamed. He called forth something gigantic in training. Is he even planning on training me or ending up the truce between us? "Hey calm down you must not start with something big already!" I shouted at him. He didn't mind my words at all. It took a few seconds before the ape was in full shape and so it started moving on it's own. I heard him murmured something which seemed to be his command at the ape and I must say I do not like where this is going. The ape moved on its own, walking towards me while just passing through against Elio's body. The ape is moving on how a normal ape moves, it copies the exact same features that a normal ape does except this one is purple — and made out of purple light. Once the ape reaches me, it took a stance. Its right arms swinging up high taking form and making itself ready to give a heavy blow on me. My feets are all shaky and so does my body, I couldn't do anything but close my eyes and covered my face with the back of my palms. I looked away from it and definitely felt the pressure of the air with just the force of its swinging hands. Then I felt more pressure when I heard the air swiftly drawn away. Its hands are near me and any second I'm getting my self blown up. But then I heard a voice, Elio's. "Stop." he reprimanded. But I was too afraid to open my eyes and look at it. I felt the sweat all over my body though, even my hands were all sweaty. My body is still shaking and I can feel the heat throughout. "It's okay now Al." he said. But I'm too adamant to remove my hands from my face. I am too scared to look at it and the very last bit of courage inside me is all swept up. He walked towards me and I felt his hands holding my palms. It's all sweaty though, and I bet he can feel and see it. He slowly pulled it away from my face and I saw him looking at me with a smile on his face. I saw the ape vanishes slowly, each part of it fading without any other intents. I also realized something. While the ape is slowly fading, there is one sword standing in front of me. It is an edgelight. I can tell if whether I'm seeing is an edgelight or not due to its features. Edgelights has a narrow edge, it has a cuff on its handle with a crown shape. The middle of the blade are encarved with foreign letters I seem ought to decrypt. The actual edgelight is the same however, an actual edgelight gives off a yellowish aura that radiates liberately. He placed his hands in top of my head and smiled at his fullest saying, "I said it's okay now silly. How about let's call it a day? It has been tiring after everything that had happened. Prepare yourself for tomorrow alright? We are going to do an extreme training." After that he went back to the ladders but he did not took any step. Instead, he looked at me and waived over. "Don't tell me you're just going to get yourself stucked over there! Come on we deserve a rest!" he shouted from afar. I can see the eagerness in his eyes and the excitement from his smile. This is something he should be really looking forward to. I have not much of knowledge about what might happen in the said event, but this is something that must hold dearly precious to him. I took a step in front but before taking another, something popped up in front of me. "Temporary Task: Survive a horde of mythical-tier monsters during the event. Failure to do so will result in a punishment. You may or may not do this in a party however, doing this task with a party member requires no death during the event. Survive as you can with all you can." The first words already gave the shivers. Continuing it is what made my body shake more. Something is ought to happen during the event and I could not familiarize with it. I wonder, what are the other gods doing about it? Did they also receive a quest like this? Will I be able to find them during the event? Then I heard a shout again from Elio, "If you're not going to walk faster I am closing the door and shutting you out Al! You have to prepare the dinner too!" Then I glared at him. He is a tricky guy. Everything just flows along with his words. But will everything still be in favor of him when the event starts? I took all the steps to reach the ladder and climbed up as swiftly as I could. I found him waiting for me at the round table in the center of his house, sitting and looking at me as if I owe him something. "Do I really have to?" I asked. "I know not much of this world. I don't have enough courage to do something" I continued. "Are you serious? It's just cooking something weird won't pop out just be cooking! C'mon then let me teach you." he said as he stand up and walk towards the kitchen. "By the way if you ain't following I'm not cooking anything for you." he added. I followed through the kitchen and saw him starting the stove. His stance in cooking is also amazing. He must have some knowledge and skills in it whithin the days he started living in this world. He cracked up some eggs and mixed it with some ingredients which so far seemed to be edible. The world we're living in if full of mysteries and unexplainable concepts that totally I do not know. I may not remember much how or why I cam to this world or whatever happened before, but there is one thing I'm sure, I must finish my task before something worse happen and if thid requires as soon as possible, I'm willing to risk my life to fix whatever is impossible. "Living independently requires you to be self-reliant and knowledgeable about your surroundings. If you are going to live indepently Al, you must know the basics of surviving and living on your own." he lectured. It was a hassle day. All of our energies were surely replenished immediately after we ate. He's a good cook I must say. Not bad for someone who just came into this world although longer than me, but not that long enough to immediately learn these simple knowledge and baaics of this world. He must also be a fast learning judging from his traits, and he's a good one too. We both took our respite in one single roof, next to each other with a blanket on our bodies. The cold air moving throughout the open windows. "Take some rest, tomorrow is going to be more tiring I assure you that." he whispered.
