Battle of the Factions Arc: The Girl with no Magic II

1540 Words
The girl never ceased to amaze me in every aspect. Ever since I met her, the fact that she does not use magic was enough to amaze me however, upon seeing her in an actual battle with someone who matches her skills; I started to admire her even more. The last move that she did probably made her increase her accuracy and sharpens her vision which is why she was able to shoot those stars even though the thick smoke that Heronn created is blocking the view. Everytime she casts a spell it always starts with “Midnight Eye” based on how she says it. From the name itself, it does not sound like any art or special abilities like what most of us have. “Midnight Eye, Abyssal Archive!” Her eyes glowed with red thin lights again. The lights leave trails everytime she moves, giving clues to where she was earlier. After a few seconds, she started multiplying, creating copies and clones of her around the battlefield. The clones imitates her movements however everytime she collides with one of them, she just passes through as if the clones are just holographic images. There were countless clones stuck in the battlefield while they continue imitating the girl’s movements. All of them are in unison, the breathing, the blinking, and even the slightest movements they are all moving at the same time. The girl aimed at the sky again and so did her clones.  I had the slightest thought that those clones will also shoot like she will and it wasn’t wrong. The moment every clone of her aimed exactly at the sky, she starting shooting with both of her guns, aiming recklessly but shooting a lot of stars. Her points started sky rocketing ten times that it did earlier and is currently filling up all the gaps between her and Heronn’s points. In just a matter of seconds the gap was completely reverse, increasing her points along with the gap between her points and Heronn’s. Heronn did not hesitate to move faster too, he might have something in his sleeve because his face is not hesitating nor worrying at all. He is just as calm as how he started shooting and until now, even though the gap between his and the girl’s points are getting bigger and bigger, he did not get bothered by it at all. He just continued shooting as if the points are just easy to catch up. Maybe he realized that faltering and hesitating will only slow him down. He does have something behind his sleeve; it is just that he thinks that it is not yet the perfect time to use it. I can read him perfectly fine, his face, his face, his actions and his breathing; all of them are synchronized together that gives me the thought of how he is doing fine. When the clones of the girl starting vanishing, her points increases slower and slower like it was on the first time she started shooting. The gap between them is already ten times hundreds and the girl is still shooting with the same accuracy that she had earlier. On the other side, Heronn remained calm and continued shooting. The gap between their points is not increasing and had become constant. After a few seconds, Heronn casted another spell. “Art of Guns: Bullet Linking Explosion!” he said as he aim for one of the stars. His bullet travelled in the fastest way it can until it reached Heronn’s targeted star. Upon reaching it, the stars suddenly became connected to each other. All of it are connected to each other.. “Explode.” Heronn casted. Suddenly, all of the stars that are linked and connected to each other exploded, instantly clearing the upper part of the battlefield. The battlefield became starless for about a second or two and then stars continued to spawn again. The gap between their points suddenly decreases as Heronn was able eliminate the group of stars above them. Just like how Heronn was earlier, the girl remained calm and focused on her targets. She continued shooting them with the highest accuracy, not even missing one of the stars she aimed for. However, the longer she remains calm the lower the gap becomes until it had reached a certain point where the two of them have equal points. We expect the stars to spawn any second right after every star vanished in the air, however the star did not spawn anymore. It looks like the artifact that was creating those stars is out of magic, thus not being able to create more stars. Everyone was shocked by how the event smoothly happened. Both of them are with their greatest will to win this battle that they both ended up having a tie. The crowd was expecting a tie breaker however Dio did not allow it. “We have no tie-breaker for the two of them as the Platima Artifact had ran out of magic.” he said. Everyone became down as the moment Dio explained there would be no tie-breaker. I suppose they are expecting Heronn to win this event but I guess someone had already matched Heronn for his skills. I must say I am very amazed by the two of them. The swiftness and perfect pacing of their hands are both worth admiring for. Neither in the two of them decided to let their opponent win so they ended up having a tie. Dio said that both of our teams will get points and the next match will be the tie-breaker. I thought that the match will occur today, but Dio announced the opposite. “The continuation of this event will continue by tomorrow at night. Make sure you are prepared enough for what is to come tomorrow. We will be handling the event in another location to give the tournament a spice and I hope everyone will be ready for whatever might happen tomorrow. We repeat, deaths will not be shouldered by the ministry and shall be considered as an accident while the tournament is occurring.” he announced. The tone of his voice became very dark and low. The ministry will not take responsibility for deaths that might happen tomorrow. It is a very odd thing to say. Dio had never mentioned that in the beginning of the match so I am guessing there might be something tomorrow that might actually cost us our lives. It is impossible for a new battle mode to be introduced so the farthest guess that I have is that something dangerous will happen tomorrow. The girl went back to our position and the portal back to Ylgaea had opened. We are obliged to leave Fantasia immediately as we have caused enough rumbling above one of its hills already and we wouldn’t want to anger Mother Nature. One by one, the factions started jumping through the portal and leaving Fantasia. I quite enjoyed my time here but the flow of events is one to worry. I can’t believe that the first time Elio and Diether would compete in the tournament will lead them to unexpected events and accidents. I hope Elio is currently doing fine just how Diether is. The girl went along with us as we step out of the portal. She wore her hood again and stayed right in front of us. “Hey, I want to say thank you.” I told the girl. She nodded her head just how the hood above it moved. “I still don’t know your name though.” I told her. “Percisca.” she said. “Nice to meet you Percisca, I am-“ Before I could even continue my introduction, she looked back immediately and walked straight slowly. “Visit the other guy, he is already fine. I took his place today because I have to see something. I will not be with you again tomorrow. Good luck to your factions and may the deities bless your team.” she said in telepathy. Her powers amaze me for those unique traits that she can do. I want to ask more about her power but she is right, we have to see Elio immediately. Diether and I ran towards where the clinic Elio is staying in. When we got inside, we immediately went to his side and checked him out. “Are you doing alright now Elio?” I asked him. He is in a better condition now. It seems like his wounds had all healed up and his energy and will is back to what it was when I met him. “I’m feeling better.” he told me. “How was the tournament? How come it ended early? Has the winner been decided already?” he bombarded with questions. I laughed at him. “The tournament has not yet ended and it will be continuing tomorrow. The winners will be decided tomorrow and Dio said that there might be huge casualties tomorrow than there are today so I guess we must prepare.” I told him.
