Battle of the Factions Arc: The Moon Covered with Black Light

2097 Words
I immediately bring the two of us outside the world where I teleported both of us and unfortunately, Johann’s battle had also ended. What can I possibly expect from the leader of the top one faction in Ylgaea? The best thing I could possibly expect is Johann waiting for me patiently – vaguely ignoring the other teams’ crystal because he said he will definitely save me for the last – without attacking any other else. The moon smoothly fades in as the sun sets in the western part Ylgaea. No matter how unique and peculiar Ylgaea might be, it still has the sun and the moon. The sun and the moon. That’s surprisingly odd. I have this strange feeling inside me that I can’t completely describe. It’s like I feel something very familiar, something I had felt before that I can’t detail much. Déjà vu is what people might call it but I blankly stare at the moon for a few seconds before going back to realizing that I am in a battlefield right now and that I am about to face Johann, the leader of the famous faction Lightshades. “Are you ready then?” he asked me. I call my edgelights on both of my arms and wielded them with the best grip I can ever do and he did the same with his battle axe too. I see the body of Divine Resonance’s leader lying on the ground behind him while his body is covered with glowing green energy and roots and thorns and leaves around him. My wildest guess is that his ally, the healer one is in charge of this. After all, Johann may be strong but he’s not the type of people who has villainous features in him. Most villains possesses immense strength and no pity for people but Johann is the half the opposite. His axe glows redly, different than before. He is definitely going all out against me. After all, Spencer had mentioned that already knows what I really am. He just knows my role, but not my true intentions, right? We both are gathering energy at our own will, freely controlling everything around us. It seems rather pathetic – I realized just now – that I, a chosen god will defeat against someone like him – a normal beau. I wouldn’t really call myself a god if I were to lose in this battle. I possess spells and strength greater than him although he might be more experienced than I am but I know I could make this pop off in my own way. I have to defeat Johann. I have a lot of objectives in this world and everyday as I go along with my friends they increase as I know my companions more. They bear the responsibility of hiding what I am so I must bear the responsibility of returning the favor to them. This is what my friends’ desire, and I shall help them achieve it. After a few seconds of gathering energy, the battlefield became completely quiet, no angst. We both looked at each other directly in the eyes, preparing ourselves to fight the strongest remaining person in this battlefield. In his own opinion yes, I might be the strongest one that he has to face here but that doesn’t mean I really am strong. I won’t deny the fact that this tournament gave me the experience I lacked before and this tournament shall be the day I truly know my capabilities. In just a blink, we both dashed towards each other and swing our weapons at the opponent, giving it all our best to defeat the person in front of us. I have to win this, all the hard works and efforts of my teammates will all go to waste if I were to continue being weak like who I was before. I’m totally different. I had realized what I lack and what I need to experience. I had learned what I need to learn and know what I should know. This is where I must show the improvement and trainings that I had done. This is no serious matter like the world is going to end – at least for some people who thinks all of this is a tournament and just nothing but a tournament. I think like them too, this is nothing but just a tournament however, seeing the will and resolve of my teammates, I know I have to exert a lot of efforts in this one. Equal to the efforts they have put in this battle or in fact, more than they have given. We both are shaking as our weapons clash in front of us. Our eyes meet while our swords clash, showing the opponent how much power do we possess and how strong we really are. No matter how much I fight him, I must never completely expose myself. Johann may have the idea of who I am but his members don’t and so are the rest. This tournament is being broadcasted openly through the whole city of Hergrinct, I will not take the risk of exposing myself right now – at least while I don’t make progress in my goal. My goal. What is the purpose exactly of accomplishing my goal? What is it exactly that I plan to do after finishing my goal? What is there to await me after achieving my goal? Is there really a point to me fulfilling this goal? I have to fulfill this mission. I just know that I have to. “Art of Pantheon Flame; Soldier’s Will!” Johann casted in the middle of us clashes swords against each other. His wounds are slowly healing up although his clothes remain the same. [Elio] This is quite a fight that I wasn’t expecting. All of us members of each factions fighting against each other to destroy the crystal of the remaining factions while Elio and Johann fight their way to truly know who is the strongest between the two of them. Well, I place my bet of course on our leader Aljinn. He should put up quite a fight but this should also be harsh and hard for him. Both of them are already wounded but Al has no spell that supports him unlike Johann who is currently healing himself while the two of them exchanges their swing of weapons. The moon is quite odd tonight, isn’t it? At night, the moon should be shining bright upon this world but this night is different. Slowly, the moon is getting covered with something black, circular in shape but smaller than the moon. This is not something everyone has experienced before in fact, this might actually be the first time this has been experienced by everyone in here. “It’s getting darker isn’t it?” I told to Diether. “Should you be really focusing on how dark it is in the middle of the battle? What would you expect at night? To be as bright as it is during the day?” he replied to me. Percisca is still struggling fighting the hunter in Johann’s team while Diether and I focus on the twin phoenixes from Volant Argonauts. “It’s a shame that Spencer has been defeated, but that should not be the end for Volant Argonauts.” Lary the dark phoenix said. “He is quite a shame.” I told him. Lary looked at me with mad eyes. “Don’t you ever say something hideous to our leader.” Spencer said. “I’m just clearly repeating what you said in fact, I’m just telling what exactly you should have said.” I replied. “Provoking them won’t do any good, Elio.” Diether told me. The twin phoenixes had gone mad. They charged themselves with energy again and went close to each other. They’re trying a synchronized move again however this one seems to be different. “By the radiant of both light and dark evil shall be gone.” they both started chanting. “I don’t feel something good about this.” I said. “That really isn’t good!” Percisca said as she continue to shoot the hunter in Lightshades. “Another unison move but this time, I think I know what this is.” Diether said. Diether and I both possess knowledge specialized in light affinity. Basically everything he knows about light affinity, I know it too and judging his look, I suddenly had the worse idea of what’s about to come. “You realized this is your fault right?” Diether told me. “How is this my fault?” I told him. We suddenly heard a crashing sound in front of us. We look at what happened and sees the crystal of Volant Argonauts shattered into pieces while the members guarding it are completely clueless. How did their crystal break? “I never thought it would actually happen.” Percisca told us. “What do you mean?” Diether asked him. “Those two have been gathering and emitting a lot of energy that their crystal absorbed too much and wasn’t able to handle it anymore. Crystals are capable of absorbing energy around it in order to strengthen itself which is why in fact the longer your crystal stays around you, the tougher it gets until it has completely absorbed sufficient amount of energy.” she explained. So that’s why. “Use this opportunity, now!” Percisca shouted. I immediately took action and ignored Percisca. I realized that this is an opportunity to take advantage. Lary and Zhelin were both distracted by the sudden breaking of their crystal that their synchronized move immediately vanished. Their synchronize move this time is not just any normal synchronize move. I felt it, both of them are using their total suppression spells to synchronize it and destroy us immediately. Such a very bold move to fight everyone however, that must be their only option, their last resort. “Art of Moonlight; Dancing Jade Dragon!” I casted. I realized that it’s already night while the battle continues and during night, my power increases more than it normally has during the daylight. My jade dragon appeared in front of me and shackled all of the remaining members in Volant Argonauts. Each of them are binded by the body of my jade dragon and are slowly being crushed tightly in it. I hear all of them grunt and moan with pain as the jade dragon continues to shackle them with its body. After a few seconds, the jade dragon vanished and all of the remaining members of Volant Argonauts fell right into the ground. “That’s totally unexpected.” Diether said. “My power increases twice up to thrice it normally has during the day. After all, it wouldn’t be called moonlight if it isn’t related with the moon.” I explained. “Perfect timing, you focus on the crystal of Lightshades, I’ll focus on this guy.” Percisca told us. “You don’t have to tell us what to do.” Diether said. “Let’s just move.” I said. Diether and I rushes towards the crystal of Lightshades where their support is guarding it. “No you don’t!” their hunter shouted as he aim his guns towards us. “I’m your opponent hunter guy.” Percisca told him and immediately kicked his back. The hunter fell right on the floor while being distracted with our movement. Maybe after all, we do have a chance to win this battle. We are doing great. We are definitely progressing and we are definitely improving, however we can’t just always expect that things will remain the same. Sometimes, there will always be a turn of events. “Total Suppression Art of Nature; Flesh-Eating Chomper!” she casted. We all freeze in our position as we hear the words ‘total suppression’. We suddenly ran out of options but just stay on where we are, waiting for what is about to come. Suddenly, the ground started rumbling.
