Battle of The Factions Arc: Pantheon Flame

In the most impeccable way to describe it, everybody is waiting for the participants of Lightshades to end up the competition real quick. That is an admirable way of describing it because people tend to know the result already right before even the fight had started. They recall and rely always on the fact that the Lightshades is a very outstanding and admirable faction which leads people to conclusion that this year’s battle of the factions will be the same like any other year, one faction winning and leading among all, the Lightshades.

It seems impossible to deny this conclusion though. However, there are ways to reject and disprove this mere statement. This year’s number of factions had increased by a few and nobody knows how powerful these factions are and what do they hold. Just for example, the opponent of Lightshades right now is Prominent Enigmas and they seem to be new. It might probably be their first time joining the battle of the factions and nobody knows yet how strong they are.

The loud uproar of everyone gives the current fight more pressure in it. It seems as if Lightshades were going to win this already. In a minute or so the two chosen factions had chosen their representatives and everybody suddenly became quiet.

The two participants started concentrating. Johann, the chosen representative of the Lightshades emits a quiet rare aura in him. Most flame users have this distinct characteristic in their aura making them really common however Johann from the Lightshades has a very unique aura. Most flame auras are orange in color but the distinct feature that Johann’s have is the fact that his aura is not purely orange. It is a mixture of red and brown that gives it a very obvious visual. His aura stands between his and his opponent’s aura. His opponent emits a dark colored energy giving me the idea that he might possibly dwell the darkness affinity.

The counting begins after some minutes of total silence. The two did not bother staying in their place after the counting finished. They immediately backed away from their opponent as if their opponents are trying to prepare something that they should be cautious of. Yet they both were not wrong.

The intense release of energy again has begun. Two of them were preparing for their offensive part. If the concentration would be the basis of whoever will win, I guess Johann from Lightshades will take the lead however if power will be the basis, then the result is yet to come.

After a minute of concentrating their energy, the two of them started casting their own battle spells.

“Art of Pantheon Flame: Rigid Flaming Javelin Spear!” Johann casted.

“Art of the Shadows: Avenging Darkness Wrath!” his opponent casted.

Above the hands of Johann appeared a flaming spear with intense fire. The fire is hot enough to burn the person holding it but since it is Johann’s affinity, I guess he is not affected by the flame at all. On his opponent’s side appeared multiple gigantic black spheres that seems to be aimed towards Johann or his crystal. In a matter of second, the two started throwing their battle spells, creating an immense explosion and smoke that blocks the whole view.

In my own opinion, none of them flinched at all. It looks like the two were unbothered enough to stay put in their own positions while throwing their immense battle spells. The smoke right now is not as thick as any other smoke created by the past contestants. It is thick enough to block our view and be deadly once inhaled. This is supposed to be expected since Johann is in the battlefield.

Many people had once believed that fire affinity would be the most useless of all as it is very ‘redundant’. The fact that this world has different types of flames disproves that belief. Flame is described to be one’s own will, strength, belief and power. It resembles how strong a person is, how strong their will is, their faith and power is. Johann’s flame is the major disproval for that thought. Fire itself is enough to destroy an uphill in Fantasia.

The discrepancy between the two exchanges of projectiles made the smoke visible from afar. In my own perspective, it is. The very thick smoke can be seen from miles away. It has attracted many small flying light-affinity type monsters thus, attracting more viewers. However, the smell is what made it distinctly clear whoever the reason the smoke is made. It purely reeks out of fire material.

The thick fog diminishes are a few minutes of staying in the battlefield. Almost everyone in the battlefield seems to be coughing the strong scent and thickness of the smoke. In just a matter of seconds, the field is as clear as it was earlier. It looks like the two of them are standing really fine with their affinity-mask on and wrapped along with their crystals. Both crystals are good as fine and seems to be unscathed which goes along with the fighters. Both of them are standing really fine, unharmed and did not even hesitate to flinch by a little on how overwhelming the power of each side is.

It looks like somebody has already matched Johann’s believed power; by someone who has the same strength as he does. The two are breathing totally fine. They look very unbothered by the fact that they have made such a very huge mess on the whole battlefield and that they have unleashed such a very, very powerful exchange of skills.

“Looks like the rumours are not mistaken.” Johann’s opponent stated.

“Do not mistake me like that descendant of a god earlier. He’s no match for the powers I dwell.” Johann answered.

I became bothered by his answer. It looks like he is looking down on Diether really low that he has to say that in front of a crowd, such a very prideful guy. So the pride he possess makes up for the fact that he is powerful enough to destroy an entire hill. As I expected with typical overpowered people they are possessing unbelievable powers along with disgusting attitudes.

“What the hell did you just say?”

I was surprised by the voice I heard. I looked immediately at Elio as he clenches his fist while glaring back at Johann.

“Don’t look at me like that kid. He is still weak enough to use such power at the very start of the competition. If I were even in his place I have not need the use of such power. In just one spell I could have ended that category perfectly fine.” he explained.

“Save your words for later big guy, you have no idea of who you are messing with.”

It was another surprise to me that I have heard Diether saying those words. This kid thinks like as if he has the power to defeat Johann.

“Oh? Such fierce words coming from a kid.” Johann backfired.

“Save the words later big guy, save it for later.” Diether repeated.

Johann smirked as he looks back to his opponent. In just a matter of seconds, he immediately unleashed a very powerful aura that we have never seen before. This concentration is greater than earlier and he is releasing more energy than he did at the very start of the competition. In just a smile and a smirk, he swiped his hands upward, energy gathering from his palm.

A huge spark appeared which later on turned into a very huge sphere of fire, giving off intense heat that is sufficient enough to burn everyone except the one who possesses it.

“Perish.” Johann murmured.

And in just a blink, the gallant sphere of fire rushed towards his enemy, burning his target along with the crystal.
