[Johann]
That girl is rather odd. I sense no magic energy from her ever since she participated for the newbie’s faction but I did not expect meeting her alone in this forest without her teammates.
My goal all along is this lightning beau as he will be a great threat to all three of us. Yes, I have the consideration to defeat those who will be a threat to my faction, Volant Argonauts, and that Edgeseekers faction. Among all the four factions standing right now in this battlefield, Divine Resonance will be the easiest target of all.
I sensed this guy’s energy after seeing the explosion that happened earlier when he tried rushing towards Edgeseekers’ crystal on his own.
“Doesn’t it look foolish when you tried attacking three people at once at your current state?” I told him.
“I have no business with you.” he told me.
“Well that’s unfortunate, now that you’re in front of me, you will have a business with me.” I told him.
I heard him grunt.
“Are you giving up already?” I told him.
“Give up on someone like you? That’s totally rubbish.” he said.
He immediately vanished in front of me and began teleporting around me. His teleport positions are all inaccurate and do not have any patterns. He just teleports randomly as if he’s trying to make me dizzy or confused with what he is doing.
“Am I supposed to get taunted by that small act?” I told him.
“Small acts are my specialty.” he told me.
He vanished completely in the air for a few seconds. In any second now, I’m expecting him to rush towards me and use those daggers that he wields to s***h against me.
But I predicted wrong.
He used a long range move behind me.
I sensed his dagger flying towards me. I was not able to dodge it and I took damage from the dagger. The electrocution that it possesses is powerful than I expected it to have. Most of the time, electrocution skills are continuous damaging abilities that deals very low damage but his spell deals great damage continuously.
“Art of Pantheon Flame; Soldier’s Will.” I casted
My soldier’s will spell lets me heal some part of my health back in an overtime manner. My affinity is not the support type which is why it cannot heal other players and it can’t heal instantly, but the time for me to heal is enough to think what my next move would be.
He again did the teleport moves with no hesitations. He is moving around me through his spell Flashsteps. This is how most lightning affinity beaus battle. Lightning affinity has always known for its speed in all cases may it be spellcasting, movement or thinking, most lightning affinity beaus seem to possess this great talent.
However on the other side, fire affinity users possess the talent of strength and fearlessness. In most cases fire affinity users would just bluntly as they possess immense power, not to mention the heat that our affinity creates is sometimes enough to burn our targets to death.
That is how my Pantheon Flame works. My affinity has the variation of a soldiers’ will, a soldiers’ strength and perseverance which is why I wield the talent of might. Strength is my weapon and will to get through challenges and battles and I won’t let some geeky affinity defeat the will of a solider.
“Art of Pantheon Flame; Gallant Howling!” I casted.
Gallant howling is the same spell I used earlier to immediately deteriorate my opponent’s crystal. The range of my gallant howling is as big as a house or greater than it, varying on how much I focus my energy in it.
“That move?” he told me.
“This should finish you.” I told him.
After a few seconds, I immediately swiped my hands from above me towards the ground, signaling my sphere of fire to fall down.
“You underestimate the power of a lightning user.” he told me.
“Art of Lightning; Shocking Dagger!”
He swiftly rushes towards me, trying to hit me with his dagger before my sphere of fire could even reach the land. But even though I have this spell above me doesn’t mean I can’t cast another spell. He is the one who underestimated me more.
“Art of Pantheon Flame; Pantheon’s Flaming Armor!”
My body is immediately wrapped in strong flames that a lightning dagger cannot possibly go through. After a few seconds of rushing, he stabbed his dagger behind me, hitting my flaming armor first.
He is trying really hard to make the dagger go right through my armor, but the more he puts pressure in his dagger the more I put pressure to my flaming armor. However, the more I put pressure into my flaming armor the smaller my gallant howling gets which is why at all costs I am trying to balance my two spells.
Since fire affinity focuses mainly on strength, I cannot balance my spells enough to make them both strong to overcome my opponents’ spells but my flaming armor is at its state where the dagger of Meliorne can’t go through.
“A few seconds left before my gallant howling reaches the land, during this only two of your teammates will be left and Divine Resonance will be an easy target.” I told him.
“You’re quite the devil aren’t you?” he said.
“Oh I am evil but a devil, my man.” I told him.
“Then it’s fair using my best against your best right?” he said.
I thought at this point he will entirely give up, but as I mentioned earlier, lightning affinity users are quick in every aspect. He immediately pulled off another trick while I continue signaling my gallant howling to fall down.
“Total Suppression, Art of Lightning; Immaculate Thunderbolt!” he casted.
In just a mere second, as quick as his movements, a very large thunderbolt hit right through me and my gallant howling. My flaming sphere was crushed into pieces right in front of my eyes will I take damage from his spell. My flaming armor is still present however it is not enough yet to cover most of the damage that he dealt.
One of my knees fell down the ground and I supported my body with the other knee. I feel the heaviness in my breath as I try to catch it up every second.
“This is the end, Johann.” Meliorne said.
He charged his daggers again with lightning and slashed it right behind me.
“It is not the end yet, Meliorne.” I told him.
“We have been underestimating each other that you forgot my gallant howling is not my best move.” I told him.
“What do you mean?” he said.
He did not continue slashing his dagger behind me.
“Have you heard me cast it? I did not mention that it is my total suppression spell.” I told him.
Gallant howling really is not my total suppression spell. It may seem big and enough to be a total suppression spell but we fire affinity users dwell far more strength than an average beau have.
“But you deserve the best, don’t you.” I told him.
While supporting my whole body with one knee, I focused myself on gathering the energy flowing around me.
“This is very stupid, I am ending this quick.” Meliorne said.
Before he could even s***h right through my back, I countered his dagger with my axe, Sunshine.
“Sunshine!” I called.
He started shaking as the great pressure applied on my sunshine overpowered his dagger. He had to use both of his daggers in order to match the strength of my axe.
“That’s not enough, Meliorne.” I told him.
“Art of Pantheon Flame; Soliders’ Will!” I casted.
My soldiers’ will spell doesn’t only enhance my defenses, but can also immensely increase my strength. Right after I casted it, I slashing right through his daggers and he went flying away from me.
“Such power.” he said.
“But still not enough.” he continued.
He disappeared right in front of me again.
“If disappearing is your best tactic, then I might as well make you disappear right here, right now Meliorne.” I told him.
“It’s foolish how you always say things as if it is already the end.” he said.
He then started teleporting right around me again.
“You will gain nothing doing that same move again and again, Meliorne.” I told him.
“Who said this one is the same as earlier?” he said.
I immediately sensed something is off this time. Before, he only teleports with his body and a spark is created right after he teleported, but now even during his teleports, lightning sparks are revolving around him. As he teleport one after another, I saw how he holds his two daggers again.
“I have more tricks than you thought I do.” he told me.
Then while teleporting, I saw daggers continuously flying right towards me.
“What?!” I shouted.
I didn’t expect him to summon this much daggers in an instant, but I have no defense enough to protect me from this much daggers.
“Art of Pantheon Flame; Raging Howl!” I casted.
My raging howl spell creates an immense heat around me that is capable of melting not only frozen objects but a whole person in just a matter of time. I have never used this spell in the tournament before but I have no choice, I have to win this, for my friends, for my family, for myself because just like any other normal person, I also have my own wish.
I grew up being a kid with no strength. After I was called here in Ylgaea, I knew that I was given the chance to change completely who I am. I met people and a new family here. During my childhood days, I used to play with my peers and family members in the southern region however, during the dispute between the deities and those disgusting devils, my hometown was destroyed. I swore on the name of the sunshine axe bestowed upon me by my family that I will take revenge and kill every remaining demon that are alive here in Ylgaea.
And I will not fail my family because just as how strong my flames are, I have the will and strength to overcome this because my family is with me, my peers and my resolve.
I grunted but I did not let it bother me. The daggers continuously hit my flaming armor while some of them are already getting past right through it.
I gathered the energy inside me and focused on using it to unleash a very powerful attack.
“No matter what happens promise me Johann, that your total suppression will only be reserved to the demons who once destroyed our family.”
I hear her voice completely inside my head. I hear my mother’s words inside my head flowing and guiding me in all of my battles.
“Art of Pantheon Flame,” I casted.
I shall not use my total suppression.
“Ex Skill.” I said.
Meliorne immediately stopped teleporting and is stunned in his current position.
“Did you just say Ex Skill?” he asked.
I smirked as he is confused right in front of me.
“Soldiers’ March.” I casted.
In a matter of seconds, the whole battlefield is wrapped in strong flames, burning every piece of trees in the arena.
Meliorne is completely stunned in his position, totally confused on what to do. He has been surrounded by flames that he couldn’t touch because he knew, he will be incinerated in less than a second.
“This is the end then, Meliorne.” I told him.
I ran towards him and aimed the back of Sunshine in his chest with pressure applied in it that I have gathered.
He fell down on the floor right after I immediately hit him with Sunshine. I walked towards him and looked at him.
“You are such a very worthy opponent Meliorne however, no matter what you do, having the resolve to fight for something precious will always prevail because that is the light, not only for me but for those who holds something precious in their life.” I told him.
“And that strength will never lose to anybody who just aims for power.” I finished.
