* * * Finding the large black Irish wolfhound sitting in the manor kitchen, Seamus called to him. “Come.” The dog only half turned its head. He was too focused on the meats being prepared for that evening’s meal. In a sharper tone, Seamus called him again. Reluctantly, Shadow complied. “I need you to do something for me,” said Seamus. “Can’t it wait? I think they’re almost ready,” said Shadow, licking his lips. Though he was looking at Seamus, his body faced the kitchen.
