THREE DAYS AFTER THAT heart-to-heart with Jordan, White was officially cleared; although, he remained someone the Met and the American agents wanted to have access to at any moment.

Without telling anyone, he booked a flight for Nebraska. There was no such thing as a direct flight from London to Omaha unless he could wiggle a ride with the U.S. Air Force. But not being in the military anymore, hitching a ride to Offutt Air Force Base was not going to happen. He counted himself lucky he got a flight with only one short layover in Chicago at short notice.
