Chapter Thirty-Three
It does not take Raphael long to find me, but my heart is pounding fast from the beginning. Raven stayed for an hour to once again explain to me what the plan is, but after that she took off. Out of fear that Raphael would show up with a massive show of force. But it seems to be the exact opposite. He arrives, completely alone. He walks up to me with his arms wide open. ‘Maya’, he says, and I force a smile on my face. ‘Raphael’, I say. I raise my hands up to show him that I am not ready for his embrace. ‘First tell me if my brother is alive, please’, I say. It’s important that I do not play too nice, because that would cause suspicion.
