Poppy “Connor,” I shouted as I grabbed my keys. I walked over to his room, where I’d just helped him zip up his jacket, expecting him to follow me into the kitchen. When I walked into his astronaut-themed room he was in bed, clearly hiding under his spaceship comforter. I suppressed a laugh. I could tell he was trying not to breathe. “Connor, we have to go,” I said, walking over to the bed and pulling the covers off him.
