The Cage of PearlsBardek had not intended his mother or Glidd to know anything of his adventures at the Temple, but as time went by and he and his two friends stayed on the mountain preparing for their second attempt to rescue Vallida, first Glidd, and then Firilla, found out about it. While Glidd was worried, Firilla was angry. She had grown accustomed to the presence of Negg and Millon and after a while had accepted them as friends of her son, forgetting that they had anything to do with the much feared Dark Star. But prejudices die hard, and when Bardek let slip something of what they had done, and were preparing to try again, she blamed it all on Negg and Millon.
