Ji Yeon opened her eyes slowly. Her vision was blurred, and her head throbbed sharply like being hit by a hammer. She grimaced, lifting her body from the rusted metal gurney that creaked beneath her. The room felt cold and damp, the smell of antiseptic that had mixed with the scent of rusted metal filling the air. The fluorescent lights on the ceiling flickered, emitting a dim light that only made the shadows on the walls more sinister. Several old medical devices were scattered in the corner of the room, some rusted and no longer functional. Dull green curtains hung half torn, framing a small window filled with thick dust.
