Wipeout

Prologue

I remember it like it was yesterday, even though it was three months ago. It was a normal day school got out and I was riding my bike to work. I could see Hardee's a few blocks away. People roamed the city like they always do, cars honked, police and fire trucks sirens could be heard over the commotion. it was normal for San Diego. But then came a flash, screaming, fire and then darkness. I was unconscious for an unknown amount of time before I woke up. Everything was destroyed. some of the buildings had collapsed, cars tossed, bodies littered the area. I was tossed into a second hand store across the street from where I was. At least I think so. I wandered my head hurt, my ears rung and I probably had a few fractures, but as far as I could tell I was alone.

Usually being a teenager you sit at home go to school have a part time job play games and get mixed into stuff that you shouldn't be. But now all I can do is survive. Over these past months ive gone through alot, watching people die of sickness or injuries. There's a strange new group of creatures that come out at night and feed off of dead corpse's. There's no power, foods getting low and I'm going to have to leave the city before I end up dead. I found an old mustang in a damaged work shop and that's where I've been holed up. I got a knife and a baseball bat to defend myself, and I just ran out of canned food today. I can't find any more without venturing into dangerous areas of the city or stumbling into someone's territory, and they have guns.

I got the car running yesterday. I scrounged up enough fuel to fill the tank and I put blankets and clothing in the back seat. I looked at a map and I am thinking about heading north, maybe there's survivors there or even better nothing happened. But nobody has come to help not even the military so that raises more questions that I'm afraid to find the answer to. I will head up to Oregon and then go east to possibly North Dakota or Minnesota. Knock on wood Yellowstone hasn't erupted.
