She turned to me, her eyes sharp and unforgiving. “You’re doomed.”
I swallowed hard, my throat tightening as I met her gaze. “I don’t even know why you called me here,” I muttered.
“Because you’ve lost yourself in their embrace,” she whispered, her voice a knife cutting through the air. “Have you forgotten your own words? The morals you promised to uphold?” There was a raw edge of betrayal in her tone.
