*Rebecca* "Where do you want these?" Alessandro asked, holding up a couple of casserole dishes. I considered thoughtfully. It was endearing that he cared to ask me at all, instead of just shoving them into cabinets in the kitchen. "Do you have other casserole dishes that could keep them company?" I asked, laughing a little. It was a silly question, but I liked the idea of my mother's casserole dishes getting to mingle with his. It represented the melding of our families, in a way. "I don't know," Alessandro admitted with a shrug. "I don't cook many casseroles." I brushed past him to walk into the kitchen, looking through his cabinets to see if there was a good spot for them. "I didn't mean to interrupt your workflow," Alessandro said guiltily, still carefully holding the two dishes.
