I carried the brown bag full of my things into the apartment. I was so ready to see what was in it. I felt so much better just having my wallet and my phone back in my hands.
"Jamie?" I called into what I was sure was an empty apartment.
"Rebecca?" Jamie called back from somewhere in the kitchen.
"I wasn't expecting you to be home!" I greeted, dropping my bag to the floor and running to her, tugging her into my arms.
She hugged me back, laughing a little as she did.
"Must've been a good trip," Jamie noted, nodding toward my new suitcase.
"It was really nice. I have so much to tell you," I reported with a big smile.
"I actually have some stuff I wanted to tell you too. Good things, I think," she assured me.
"Then let's order lunch and get to it. I'm starving," I confessed
