EPILOGUE My father, not an ignorant man himself, insisting that all his children, whether boy or girl, be schooled in letters, in the arts and sciences, in mathematics, in philosophy, and in all those subjects in which intellectual men converse, and I, being his only offspring, was therefore schooled in all the aforementioned subjects. And I, not wishing to waste his good judgment and effort, therefore use my hard-earned skills, given by the gods and nurtured by my father’s good diligence, to come to his defense.
