CHAPTER 8
Kisadella's POV
The days leading up to the wedding were a whirlwind of preparations, each moment filled with the soft hum of anticipation and a hint of anxiety that I couldn't shake, I could not help but feel empty, I felt numb, it was as if everyone around me had an overwhelming feeling but me, I felt nothing, so empty .
The Alpha Kings were attentive, showering me with gifts and affection, but I couldn't help feeling like a pawn in a game I didn't fully understand.
As I walked through the castle gardens, the scent of blooming flowers filled the air, and the soft rustle of leaves beneath my feet was a soothing balm to my frazzled nerves. Alpha Hurlford appeared beside me, his eyes squeezing slightly at the corners as he smiled.
"Hey, what's on your mind?"
he asked, his voice low and gentle, full of care.
I shrugged, feeling a flutter in my chest.
"Just thinking about the wedding, I guess, everything is just so overwhelming ."
Alpha Hurlford took my hand, his touch sending shivers down my spine.
"Don't worry, we'll make it perfect. Just for you."
I smiled, feeling a pang of guilt. I was hiding so much from them, my past, my motives, my secrets. But I couldn't help feeling drawn to them, each in their own way, their looks, their scent, their touch.
As we walked, Alpha Hectory joined us, his eyes burning with intensity.
"Kisadella, I want to show you something."
He led me to a hidden courtyard, filled with moonflowers that bloomed only at night. The air was thick with their scent, and I felt like I was walking through a dream.
"These are so so beautiful,"
I breathed.
Alpha Hectory smiled, his eyes gleaming.
"I wanted you to see it, something so beautiful, but not even these can be compared to your beauty ."
I felt a flutter in my chest, Alpha Hectory seems to have his way with words, and for a moment, I forgot about Xander, about the danger lurking in the shadows. All I saw was the Alpha Kings, their eyes shining with love and adoration.
BAs we stood there, Alpha Hoxton appeared, his voice low and commanding.
"Kisadella, we need to talk."
My heart skipped multiple beats, he sounded so serious.
He led me to a quiet room, the walls lined with books and secrets.
"About the wedding,"
he said, his eyes serious.
"We need to discuss the ceremony, the guests... and the future."
I nodded, feeling a shiver of relief and uncertainty run down my spine.
"What about it?"
Alpha Hoxton took my hand, his touch sending sparks flying.
"We want you to be happy, Kisadella. But we also need to make sure you're safe."
Safe. The word echoed in my mind, reminding me of Xander's threat. What did he want? And what would happen when he found out about my past? Or what if he already did?
As Alpha Hoxton spoke, Alpha Hurlford and Alpha Hectory joined us, their eyes shining with love and concern. I felt a pang of guilt, knowing I was hiding so much from them. But they deserved it, I convinced myself even if a part of me kept telling me that they were changed.
What ever be the case, for now, I would play along, pretend to be the Luna they wanted me to be. And maybe, just maybe, I would find what I was really looking for, freedom, revenge, or maybe something more.
The night before the wedding, I couldn't sleep. My mind was racing with thoughts of Xander, the Alpha Kings, and the future. I slipped out of my room, into the gardens, searching for some fresh air.
That's when I saw him, Xander, standing in the shadows, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light, how on earth did he know I would come down here by this time?
"Hello, Kisadella,"
he said, his voice low and menacing.
"I see you're going through with it."
I felt a shiver run down my spine, but I stood tall.
"What do you want, Xander?"
He stepped closer, his eyes burning with intensity. "I want you,and I want you to remember, to remember, Kisadella, Remember what they did. Remember what they took from you."
I shook my head, feeling a wave of fear wash over me.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Xander laughed, a cold, mirthless sound.
"Don't play dumb, Kisadella. You know exactly what I'm talking about. And soon, you'll remember. Soon, you'll see."
As he disappeared into the shadows, I felt a chill run down my spine. What did Xander want? And what secrets was he hiding?
The wedding day dawned bright and clear, the sun shining down on the castle grounds. I stood in my room, staring at the white dress hanging on the door. It was beautiful, perfect... but I felt like I was wearing a mask, a mask of a stranger I didn't like.
As I walked down the aisle, the Alpha Kings waiting for me at the end, I felt a sense of trepidation. What was I getting myself into? And what would happen when the truth came out?
The ceremony was a blur, the words echoing in my mind like a distant dream. But when the Alpha Kings took my hand, their eyes shining with love and adoration, I felt a spark of something real, was I day dreaming?
Maybe this was the start of something new, something beautiful. Or maybe it was the beginning of the end.
As we walked away from the altar, hand in hand, I knew one thing, I would do whatever it took to protect the Alpha Kings, to keep them safe from Xander's wrath, the only I would let touch them would be my revenge.
But I also knew that I was playing with fire, and that the flames would eventually consume me whole possibly ripping off my actual personality or even my sanity .
