Chapter Forty-Six The YMCA filled the corner of 23rd Street and Winnie Street. A first floor of gray stone with three floors of red brick, the building with its arched windows on the third floor and a cornice that spread out over the street reminded Alfred of the Levy Building. A steady line of people walked through the door, some younger men heading toward the locker rooms and others businessmen searching for the lecture hall. Alfred held the door for Florence and took a last breath of fresh air before stepping into the lobby.
