Chapter Forty-Three Another telegram had arrived overnight telling of cyclonic winds pushing south of Cuba and into the gulf, but it was the report from a ship that had traveled somewhere between Galveston and the Yucatan Peninsula that had Isaac so talkative when Alfred arrived at the office the following morning. “Coordinates?” Joseph eyed the telegram as he read the numbers. “Latitude twenty-one degrees, fifty-seven minutes, and thirty-three seconds north.” Isaac followed the latitudinal lines on a map that was unfurled on the table and marked the spot with his finger. “Longitude eighty-nine degrees, one minute, and twenty-six seconds west.” Joseph leaned into Isaac’s space as the climatologist worked his right hand until it met up with his left at the bottom left of the map.
