Chaos, darkness, fire, and clashing of swords were what twelve year old Hera could describe as what was happening. That day rained arrows, blood, and broken flesh of werewolves at every corner. The barbarians attacked when the Kuangazans least expected. It was strategic, with the help of trolls and gnomes, the barbarians group led by Eadbald. These groups were previously known as hunters, according to history books. Humans who came to know the existence of supernatural creatures and decided to hunt for fun, showing their superiority. That night Eadbald led them to victory. Studying the werewolves made them understand their nature and their weaknesses. Mating, this magical sacred bond bestowed on werewolves by the moon goddess was what the barbarians targeted. Unfortunately luna Asteria fell into their trap and was killed while she slept. Alpha King Darius had traveled along with many other Alphas for their annual meeting with High priest lord Gordan. The direct descendant of the moon goddess, who appears to tell the Alphas and rulers the mind of the goddess. With the right information, the barbarians knew the day, time the right spot to attack, where it would weaken the Alphas. A total of twelve Lunas lost their lives that night. Tunnels running miles were dug by trolls, tunnels leading right into castles and Parkhouse for Alphas of a smaller community. Luna Asteria patted Princess Hera to bed, even though she was big enough, Hera was still a child who just grew up so fast in her mother's eyes. Asteria was an omega who found luck and moved up the hierarchy. She never forgot her humble past and raised her daughter teaching kindness. She placed a soft kiss on Hera's forehead and left when the young lady was fast asleep. Apart from the arms and company of her mate, the next place Queen Asteria found peace at night time was her balcony. She would sing her heart out before going to bed. And like every other time in the absence of her mate, she sang, wearing out before heading to bed. Steel going trough her skin woke her up, she saw her attacker with a smirk on his face. Asteria tried to speak but coughed out blood instead. Eadbald repeated the same action and watched the queen chocke on her blood. The first victory was won, he left her chambers heading for his next victim which no other person than Princess Hera. The empty bed made Eadbald's blood boil, surely the small Princess was supposed to be in bed. "Princess Hera we have to go, I promise you that we would come back to get the Queen." "What are those people? Are they wolves like us? Or rather trolls, or Elves? What supernatural creature do I classify them as maid Eris?" Princess Hera was saved by a maid, pulled like a rug by her mother's maid who had secretly witnessed the death of the queen. Eris moved princess Hera, taking her through the secret passage built for protection during war. " The castle has a secret passage, if she is absent from her room, then she must be moved by a maid. Here, take this lamp and finish what you came here for barbarian. I've fulfilled my part of the bargain, show me that I didn't make a mistake joining force with you." Eris gaps out loudly, apart from the fact that their hiding place was no longer safe, she learned a secret that night. This was not just an attack, but the kingdom was sold out. "Run Hera, ditch your Royal garment, keep yourself in mud, and stay in hiding until I come to get you". Princess Hera did as she was told not arguing, she began running, going in the direction as Maid Eris had pointed, and she smelt fresh air, and wet trees. The wind was strong, and Princess Hera wrapped her arms around herself. Maid Eris didn't move from her spot, she prepared herself for what she was about to do. It wasn't long until she came face to face with Eadbald. He was taller than an average human as Eris knew. Eadbald was thick and had muscle popping at every corner. He was shirtless, having just coal painting his bare chest. Pieces of silk material were tied on both his arms. Eadbald unkept shoulder-length hair fell on his face. His beard could shelter a mouse, and his breath stunk of wine. On his white skin, hair grew in every part, from his armpit to his legs. Except for the two pieces of clothing used to cover his private genitals, Eadbald was completely naked. He held two axes stained with blood. The steel edge of the axe shone even in the dark secret passageway. "Where is she?" " Where is the little girl" Eris bent her neck in fear, this man could tear her in two, even with her being a werewolf. "I came here to hide, I do not know who you seek for. I've been by myself for a while now". Eadbald didn't utter a word, instead, his axe spoke, cutting the neck of Eris with just a single stroke. Her neck fell to the ground along with her head. Her eyes still held fear in them and were open widely even after death. Eadbald kicked her standing body to the ground, venting his anger, as he butchers Eris's body mercilessly and didn't leave until he was satisfied. " You can't run away Princess, you die by my hands today. Come out and I would take you to your mother".
