XIII. Joyride

1104 Words

The weekend passed; it was the best weekend Louise could ever ask for. It’s as if a fish bone has been removed from her throat that’s piercing her heart before she could confess everything to Amelia.   It’s Monday, and she knows Amelia was at work, but she gets to see her again during her lunch break. She was in the middle of reviewing her plan when she got a text from Amelia. She checked the time, it was just ten in the morning.   Hi, Lou! Are you busy?   She smiled as soon as she read the message. It’s the first time Amelia called her by her nickname. Instead of replying, she dialed Amelia's number.   “Hello?” came a voice from the other line.   “Hey, A,” she greeted.   “Oh. Hi, Lou!”   “What’s up?”   “Uhm, nothing… I was just bored and lazy to get anything done today.”
