Chapter 43
Don Fernando Montoya did not normally receive guests in their Forbes Park home, particularly now that he was formally retired. Hence, it was a rare occasion when a guest was welcomed into his home, especially one who was uninvited. It was only his curiosity that allowed such an uninvited guest to be admitted into his inner sanctum. He had been intrigued by the phone call he received earlier. Gabriel had already warned him of the possibility, but it still took him by surprise. He’d been quite sure that given the present circumstances, the subject of his current thoughts would not be as bold. Said subject’s impending arrival, however, proved otherwise. As he waited for his guest, his thoughts naturally turned to his eldest son, Gabriel, and their heart-wrenching encounter a few nights ago.
