Epilogue

920 Words

It’s been a week since Louisa and Gabriel’s wedding. Yet he still could not get over the pain that had permanently lodged inside his heart. For Angelo Montoya, the world ended one week ago. It was expected. It was inevitable. But it hurt like hell, nevertheless. Had he not owed his brother so much, he would’ve left before the wedding. Still, family was family. And he could not shirk his duty to his brothers. Even Rafael had flown in straight from Paris just to be present. How then could he not be, then? He slung on his backpack with a little grimace. The wound on his left shoulder still hurts every once in a while, a constant reminder of how much he loved Louisa, proof he was willing to sacrifice his life for her. Had he not jumped in front of Anselmo’s gun, that bullet would’ve hit her.
